📢 Yesterday EuropeOn - The European Electrical Contractors Association’s Secretary General, Julie Beaufils participated in the panel “How to Communicate about Climate Change”, organised by The Right Street. The panel also included Christoph Zipf from WindEurope, Gianluca Corzani from Area Europa - Development Consulting, and Florian Cassier from WWF European Policy Office.   After a presentation on the EU project Flood Stopping, by Lorenzo Marchese and Giulia Lombardo Pijola, the speakers discussed the challenges and best practices when communicating on #ClimateChange related issues from their different sectors. Julie Beaufils reflected on the shortage of #skills and workers needed to implement the #green transition and the role of communication in attracting new talents to the sector 🔌   📍 Ambiorix Center   #ElectricalContractors #Skills4Climate

#Electrification must be at the heart of the Clean Industrial Deal! ⚡️ Earlier this week, members of the Electrification Alliance met with Kerstin Jorna, Director-General at the Directorate-General for Industry, Internal Market, Entrepreneurship & SMEs (DG GROW), at the European Commission. 🗣️ During the meeting, Electrification Alliance members outlined: ▶️ Our recommendations for an Electrification Action Plan. ▶️ Our recommendations on how the Clean Industrial Deal should incorporate electrification's essential role in decarbonising industry. ▶️ The importance of accelerating the deployment of renewable energy + energy storage + electricity grids + demand #flexibility. As part of our recommendations for the Clean Industrial Deal, we're calling on the European Commission and Member States, to: 🔌 Introduce a national smart electrification indicator for industry.  💶 Provide adequate financial support for the deployment of electric equipment, electric heating, and cooling technologies. 🤝 Ensure fair tax policies and levies to enhance industrial competitiveness and accelerate electrification in the EU. ⏰ Guarantee timely grid access for electrified industrial processes. 🤸♀️ Address barriers to unlocking flexibility in the industry.  👷♀️ Facilitate a skilled workforce. We must accelerate #electrification to deliver a competitive, net-zero Europe. For this reason, we’re calling on the 🆕 European Commission to publish its Electrification Action Plan. ⚡ As a member of the Electrification Alliance, EuropeOn - The European Electrical Contractors Association’s Secretary General, Julie Beaufils, participated in a meeting with the European Commission’s DG ENER, DG CLIMA, and DG MOVE.   This was an opportunity to urge the Commission to deliver an #Electrification Action Plan within the first 100 days of its mandate. Fast-tracking electrification is essential for building a #competitive, net-zero Europe.
