Chronic pain is a leading cause of disability and impacts millions across Europe. The European Pain Federation (EFIC) has launched a Pain Research Strategy to tackle this growing challenge and bridge funding gaps in pain research. Key priorities of this strategy include: 🔹 Understanding pain mechanisms to guide innovative therapies. 🔹 Addressing comorbidities like mood, sleep, and obesity to improve outcomes. 🔹 Improving current treatments and developing new, effective options. 🔹 Exploring the biopsychosocial impacts of pain for holistic care. 🔹 Promoting prevention, self-management, and personalized pain management. This strategy was built with input from over 600 researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience of pain, ensuring it reflects the most urgent needs in the field. By focusing on these priorities, EFIC aims to enhance research, improve care, and reduce the societal burden of pain across Europe. 📄 Read the full paper: https://lnkd.in/euBbzup9
