In this week's instalment of our 'Grow In Tech' series we explored the question: ❓How do we engage men in the effort of increasing diversity?❓ Skevi Skordallou , CISA said: Engaging men in diversity efforts requires us to clearly communicate the impact of their behaviour on women. Many men are unaware of how their actions can create discomfort and sometimes lead women to change careers. By educating men about these issues, we can empower them to become allies and actively contribute to a more inclusive workplace. For our lunchtime conversation this week, we'd like to hear your thoughts on the impacts of men's' behaviour on women that they may not fully understand. We don't think it is too dramatic to say, we stand on the precipice of opportunity lost. With the very concept of DEI becoming increasingly polarizing, it's time to think seriously about how we can join forces to keep momentum going. This instalment of our 'Grow In Tech' series explores the question: ❓How do we engage men in the effort of increasing diversity?❓ We would love to read your comments on the subject. Welcome to another week! Today's inspiring quote comes from Petra Kotuliakova, who founded AjTyvIT over 10 years ago in order to get more women working in tech to fight the common prejudice that considers it as male dominated sector. "The true value of a company lies in its people. Happy employees contribute significantly to the success of the organisation and, ultimately, to customer satisfaction." We kick off this week in the right frame of mind with a quote from our latest 'Grow in Tech' post where our diversity experts addressed a community question: "How can we make leadership more inclusive?" "To make leadership more inclusive, we must first assess the organisation’s genuine commitment to change." This quote was from Marina Cabrini, who is part of our fabulous assessment team and working group. This week we posted another instalment in our 'Grow in Tech' series, where our diversity experts answer some key questions raised by our community. The question at hand was: How can we make leadership more inclusive? For today's lunchtime conversation we'd like you to think about this response from Petra Kotuliakova: "To achieve meaningful progress in diversity, change must begin at the highest levels of the organisation. Mere verbal commitments from the board aren't enough. They must take concrete actions to foster a more inclusive environment. This means allocating resources and personnel, not just through voluntary programmes, but as a strategic priority." So, what 'concrete actions' are you taking? We'd love to hear what works so we can share ideas and best practise among our community.
