CUBEX x Manook for the BEL Prizes Exhibition at Autoworld Museum Brussels 🇰🇷 Designing vintage and highly functional kitchens since 1932, our member Cubex leaned into the imagination of Korean-Belgian artist Manook to turn the initial shape of Cubex kitchen furniture into a symbol of artistic transformation where the multiple facets of Korean culture blend into the infinite possibilities of art. The final result, named RESIPI, draws inspiration from the traditional Korean game Ddakji, popularized by the series Squid Game. In this game, two players compete by throwing folded paper squares to flip over their opponent's piece 💥. Manook brings a playful twist to this concept by using pages from recipe magazines from around the world to create her squares, inviting a reflection on cultural exchange and the reinvention of the game using everyday materials.
