🚨🚨Packaging and packaging waste regulation formally adopted by Council! ✔️Today the Council formally adopted the regulation on packaging and packaging waste. It was the last step of a very long legislative procedure. It is now in the hands of Member States to implement it, with 2026 in the horizon. ⭐ Seeing the complexity of this regulation, the road to its transposition will not be an easy one. Local Governments are Key to the #SocialClimateFund's Success!   The €86 billion EU Social Climate Fund aims to support vulnerable households, but a new report reveals a concerning trend: lack of consultation with local governments. Local governments possess invaluable expertise and understanding of their communities' unique needs. They are best equipped to tailor measures that effectively support those most vulnerable. The national governments must ensure an active engagement of local authorities to guarantee that the Social Climate Fund reaches those who need it most. The Local Alliance, a coalition of 8 major European local government networks, is raising the alarm.
