🌍📱 6G4Society, in collaboration with SNS BeGREEN Project, Coalesce_Horizon, IN2CCAM, CENTRIC Project, 6Green Project, and 6G-TWIN has contributed to an open letter that highlights the necessity of embedding sustainability into the development of 6G mobile networks. The open letter outlines key strategies for reducing the environmental footprint of 6G through AI optimization, renewable energy integration, and sustainable infrastructure. This message follows the discussions held at the "Towards Sustainable 6G" workshop, as part of Sustainable Places 2024. We’re thrilled to see Dr Mir Ghoraishi, CEO of Gigasys Solutions and a valued member of the 6G4Society External Advisory Board, contributing his expertise to the GlobeCom-2024 Industrial Panel “IPA-03: Green Native Design, A Path Towards Sustainable 6G”! 🌍 As we continue to advance the 6G vision, discussions like these are essential in ensuring that sustainability remains at the core of next-gen networks.

🌍 Our Project Coordinator, Monique Calisti, will be representing 6G4Society at the ITU-ETSI Symposium in Geneva on December 11–12, 2024 to engage in discussions around how ICT standards drive environmental innovation. This symposium brings together experts from across the world to explore how ICT products, networks, and services can be designed with sustainability at their core. 🌱 This week the 6G4Society consortium gathered in Brussels to reflect on Year 1 and plan ahead for Year 2 of the project. Day 1 celebrated key achievements like the Citizen Survey, the first white paper, and deeper collaboration with EU policymakers. 🛜🪴👥 What guiding principles should shape the development of 6G to benefit everyone? We took this question to the AIESEC in Switzerland conference! We were thrilled to be part of the AIESEC conference in Fiesch, Switzerland, last week, where we hosted an engaging workshop on the future of #6G. This session gathered young leaders from across #Switzerland and #Europe to explore the transformative potential of 6G and how it can be harnessed to create a more connected, sustainable, and inclusive society. Through interactive discussions and activities, participants delved into critical topics like bridging the digital divide, environmental sustainability, responsible media, and the future of education and work in a 6G world. Our "Spin the 6G Wheel" game and interactive booth brought 6G to life in meaningful and lively ways, sparking inspiring conversations about the next generation of connectivity’s role in our future.
