About us
Mount Gay is the oldest running rum distillery in the world, established in Barbados in 1703, the birthplace of rum. Founded and still located in the Parish of St. Lucy, at the northernmost tip of Barbados, Mount Gay is crafted using pure coral-filtered water from our well, only dug once, and the finest Barbadian and Caribbean molasses. Celebrating over 320 years of heritage and expertise, Mount Gay rums are a fine balance between science, art and innovation. In 2019, Mount Gay made history, appointing Trudiann Branker as the first ever female Master Blender in Barbados. The Master Blender is the head behind all Mount Gay blending and innovations. Aged under the influence of Barbados’ tropical climate, from soil to sip, our rums highlight a unique, rich and flavorful character. Distilled in traditional double copper pot and copper column stills, Mount Gay rums are aged in a diverse selection of casks including American whiskey, Bourbon and Cognac. Mount Gay’s core range includes Mount Gay Silver, Mount Gay Eclipse, Mount Gay Black Barrel and Mount Gay XO, alongside limited-edition collections, such as The Master Blender Collection. In addition to crafting the world’s oldest rum, Mount Gay is committed at all times to the use of sustainable and transparent practices in order to realise our vision of environmental stewardship, sustainable agriculture and carbon neutrality. Join our team and become a part of over 320 years of history and craftmanship.

Fresh from the Mount Gay and Oxford Estate! 🌱 At Mount Gay, we're committed to sustainability through regenerative agriculture. Our crop rotation practices not only replenish the soil with essential nutrients but also support the growth of healthy sugarcane for our rum production. The result? Fresh, organic fruits and vegetables for local communities and our staff in Barbados. Our team, led by Farm Supervisor, Kevin Cozier, is proud of the diverse crops we cultivate — from sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and watermelons to nutrient-rich pigeon peas, yams, and okra. These crops naturally fertilise the land, reduce our reliance on external fertilisers, and even help control weeds. Plus, with our orchards, apiary, and sugarcane nursery moving throughout the estate, we’re sowing the seeds for a sustainable future. Sustainability isn't just a practice, it's our promise for a better tomorrow 🌍 #SustainableFarming #RegenerativeAgriculture #MountGay #Barbados

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of presenting our latest Mount Gay Single Estate Series 24_02 at The Connaught in London! 🥃🇬🇧 It was an incredible day filled with exclusive tastings and in-depth education sessions led by our Master Blender, Trudiann Branker, and Managing Director, Antoine Couvreur. This release marks a special milestone as the first vintage in our terroir-driven Single Estate Series. Crafted using 100% molasses from sugarcane grown at our Mount Gay Estate in St. Lucy, Barbados, the 24_02_Vt18d2 blend showcases rums produced from the Mount Gay Estate's 2018 sugarcane harvest. Bottled at 55% ABV and non-chill filtered to maintain its rich aromas and natural color, this expression is meant to be savored neat. With just 5,418 bottles available, UK enthusiasts can find it at select retailers, including The Whisky Exchange, for £337. #MountGay #BarbadosRum #SingleEstateSeries

The second release of the limited Single Estate Series is finally here! 🥃 Single Estate Series, 24_02_Vt18d2, created using 100% sugar cane cultivars grown on the Mount Gay Estate, translates the specific terroir of the world’s oldest running rum distillery. Master Blender Trudiann Branker offers a blend of rums produced from the 2018 Estate sugar cane harvests – the first vintage in this series. This small batch rum is 100% copper pot still distilled, then matured in Quercus Alba ex-bourbon casks. We saw this liquid build up over the years to truly develop an exceptional profile, which we can’t wait for you to discover. #MountGay #SingleEstateSeries #BarbadosRum #Terroir
