This position requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years experience in the inspection of pressure vessels, storage tanks, or piping systems and must currently hold the required certifications listed below.

Activités
General:
· Inspect plant equipment for the purpose of evaluating its fitness for service.
· Must maintain proficiency in the latest codes, standards, recommended practices, company rules and specifications.
· Must have working knowledge of applicable inspection codes and recommended practices that guide in identifying susceptible damage mechanisms, proper application of inspection techniques and methods, and mitigation practices.
· Practice good record keeping and organization skills.
· Work in a safe and efficient manner to promote safety.
Routine:
· Perform internal and external inspections of plant equipment.
· Assure inspection due date compliance of equipment, piping, and relief devices with the plant’s mechanical integrity program.
· Review and validate monthly inspection compliance and look-ahead reports ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Develops repair plans for equipment that falls out of acceptable damage limits and gives clear instruction for the intended repair.
Turnaround/Project:
· Audits and surveys Turnaround and Project fabrication and construction, and Quality Control inspections assuring quality of new installations and repairs to assure the construction utilizes applicable codes, specifications, standards, good construction practices, and Company Specifications.
· Oversees outside inspection contractors ensuring the use of acceptable inspection methods and techniques that confidently and effectively identifies equipment condition.
Contexte et environnement
The Inspector provides functional support to the Carville site with primary focus directed towards the inspection of all plant fixed equipment to ensure its mechanical integrity and to document the inspections in a manner that they are readily accessible to all plant personnel.
The Inspector oversees the inspection activities of contract inspectors and technicians.
The Inspector must possess technical competence and knowledge in the application of the latest codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to the design, inspection, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of plant fixed equipment and is responsible for the enforcement of company rules and routinely collaborates with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Projects to communicate equipment health and inspection requirements.
The Inspector contributes to the productivity of the plant by inspecting fixed process equipment and piping, assisting with corrosion problems, predicting and improving the life of plant equipment, recommending repairs or changes to equipment and maintenance strategies, and auditing to assure that the fabrication, construction and repairs on fixed equipment are made as planned and are in compliance with industry codes and standards, and company rules and specifications.
