Yeah, I remember that Vinyl would accumulate electro-static Sizzle and tiny defects would resulted in a POP! Yeah, each revolution of the Vinyl LP you would hear Sizzle->POP!Sizzle->POP!Sizzle->, and so on! Until CD's came out!
