Josie’s practical knowledge of equipment maintenance and process operations is now further enhanced by her recent completion of the Chevron, 20-week, UNPAID training program, having gained a Certificate II in Process Plant Operations and Certificate III in Process Manufacturing. ✨ Key Highlights of Josie’s Journey: - As a Service/Yard Person at NTC Contracting, Josie conducted equipment inspections, stock control and maintained safety registers - Gained hands-on maritime experience as a Deckhand with Sealink Sydney and Gladstone, excelling in vessel maintenance and safety procedures - Participated in the Women in Engineering Program (Chevron/TAFE), where she advanced her skills in process plant operations and environmental sustainability practices Josie’s passion lies in the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Maritime sectors, and she is now actively seeking opportunities with companies like Santos, Shell, Woodside, and Rio Tinto - where she can contribute her technical expertise and grow her career. 🌟 Her long-term goal? 🎄 Spreading Christmas Cheer in Port Hedland 🎅 On Saturday, our Programmed team, School-Based Trainees and Host Company Supervisors came together for a special volunteering day at the Port Hedland Seafarers Centre. The Seafarers Centre plays a vital role in supporting seafarers - from around the world - who visit Port Hedland, offering a home away from home with services that include transportation, welfare support, and a welcoming space to relax. Their annual Christmas hamper initiative ensures that seafarers spending the festive season away from their families feel appreciated and connected. With the Christmas season approaching, we helped pack 2,000 hampers for seafarers. This meaningful event was supported by trainees from Hedland Senior High School and our valued partners BHP, Town of Port Hedland, and WA Country Health Service. It was a fantastic morning filled with teamwork and holiday spirit.
