Many consultants choose project work for its flexibility and variety, but Canberra's shift away from contracting roles is making that choice increasingly difficult. High taxes and fewer local contract opportunities are prompting ICT and Business services support professionals to seek work outside the ACT. To bring these opportunities back, we need supportive tax policies and flexible APS partnerships. Thank you, Angelo Gulisano and Nicolò Ferranti, for the Bellissimo “Leveraging Azure Application Insights with Power Apps and Power Automate” session at Coding Night NZ 🤌! We had an incredible session exploring various ways to capture telemetry within Power Apps, both in Canvas and Model-Driven Apps. Nicolò Ferranti delved into Low-Code methods as well as High-Code plugins in C#, demonstrating how to load assemblies into #dataverse to capture events and also a PCF (PowerApps Component Framework) control in ReactJs with monitoring embedded. Angelo Gulisano showcased Power Automate, highlighting its seamless integration with an Azure Function written in NodeJs for capturing telemetry data. All telemetry is available in #azure Application Insights, providing integrated analytics and insights into user flow and app monitoring! A session with lots of great demos! 🎇 🎯 If you missed the session, the recording is available on our YouTube Channel: https://lnkd.in/g4wqTyrG 🎯 Whether you are an experienced #developer with years in the field, a recent graduate embarking on your career, or someone in a career transition, stay tuned for our upcoming events and meetups here: https://lnkd.in/dSbfdZQX #powerplatform #azure #dotnet #reactjs #node #developers #community #meetup #codingnightnz #mvpbuzz #Gratitude #ContinuousLearning #growth #learning #thankyou

Getting there ... #digitalID legislation is good ✅ and now terrific to see some funding for trials of #digitalwallets and #verifiablecredentials as part of the Australian Government Digital Identity System (AGDIS). Identity is great but only half the story. We need an end-to-end and secure system. It is pointless to be able to prove who you are digitally if you still have to produce/copy/send paper documents and certificates.

Need help with Microsoft on-premises to M365 / cloud, sorting Identity, Cybersecurity, Networking, and Infrastructure? Here's a recommendation... You need Prince Bhurji! https://lnkd.in/gWCs-ehz And he is available right now. His contract with us is ending (and we are sad!) Prince is amazing. I mean it. Really, truly impressive. He was hired to come and sort out our cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure and move us from chaotic on-premises to cloud, while sorting out our cybersecurity. But he has done so much more. He has taken care of everything: * Revamping our networking and VPNs for maximum security. Including trusted networks, RADIUS, NPS, the full deal. * Modernising our identity security, conditional access, etc. We now have a 100% MS identity security score. An external consultant told us our tenancy is one of the best he has seen. That's thanks to Prince. * Reviewing and cleaning up resources in our Azure tenancy, securing and setting up just-in-time / PIM access for external vendor access and admins. * Automating cost dashboards so we can monitor spending. * Saving us a ton of money by shifting from an external DC for disaster recovery to Azure Site Recovery, and Azure backup for on-premises. * Teaching us to manage, monitor, and deal with vulnerabilities and rollout security changes. Our MS SecureScore is in the 70s now. * Sorting out our OS, applications, and infrastructure patching. * Revamping our RBACs and security, closing down loop-holes and cleaning up. * Planning and executing our home-drive to OneDrive migration. * Planning and playbooks for our migration from on-premise DCs and infrastructure to all cloud. * Risk reviews and remediation planning and implementation. * Design and architecture. * Lots and lots of tweaks to our M365 systems and teaching us the ropes for administration of M365. And that's just the stuff I remember. Prince is amazing. Absolutely wonderful to work with. A constant ray of sunshine in the team. If you need help M365, moving from old-school to cloud, MS security and identity, choose Prince. You get an architect and experienced doer in one happy package, and that is a very rare thing. You will not regret it. 😎

As we look to the imminent GA of the NZ North Azure region, plenty of agencies are gearing up to move workloads to Azure. As part of this work, if you are completing a risk assessment for public cloud as per the GCDO guidelines and need the most current Microsoft response documents to make completing that document a lot easier - I have got you covered :) See the links in our official documentation for New Zealand agencies on this page here: https://lnkd.in/gNnd5qTJ Currently we have the guidance docs for Azure and M365, and coming soon are Dynamics and Fabric. Enjoy :) #azure #nz

Yet another breach of Australian Personal Information is in the news... ...don't be next! Veritas can help you find all the Personal Information sitting in your unstructured data, no matter if it is on premise or in the cloud (like SharePoint and OneDrive). We can tell you what it is - Passport - Drivers license - Credit card - Date of birth - Address details - COVID certificate Your corporate data profile (RSL membership details, loan application, medical record, construction certificate etc) Even if it's a scanned image or a photo! We can tell you useful data about it - Who created it - Who has access to it - When was it last accessed But perhaps most importantly, alert you to if the access pattern changes! SCENARIO OF IDENTITY THEFT Imagine a world where identify theft happens (that would be the world we all live in), and a bad actor gets access to your environment by pretending to be a valid employee. They then start exfiltrating data at scale, which is anomalous to the usual behaviour of that person who has been compromised. We will alert your SIEM, so you can disable that person and go check. Sounds too easy doesn't it. Data protection starts with data knowledge. No point protecting anything (including backing it up) if you don't know what it is in the first place! #dataprotection #innovation from Veritas Technologies LLC

🚀 Arinco recently partnered with Blue Zebra Insurance (BZI), an Australian insurance agency, to implement Microsoft Sentinel and ensure maximised use of its capabilities. In 2024, BZI decided to enhance its security posture by deploying Microsoft Sentinel for a centralised dashboard to oversee incidents and centralise threat management activity. BZI engaged with Arinco, by Microsoft's recommendation, for its deep expertise and knowledge of the Microsoft stack. In a nine-week deployment, Arinco seamlessly integrated Sentinel into BZI’s operations which has now become its starting point for incident and response management. “Sentinel is a sophisticated product, with a lot of data connectors and different playbooks, depending on your needs and priorities, but the deployment was made far less daunting with Arinco’s guidance,” said BZI’s Chief Technology Officer, Amar Roomi. In partnership with Arinco, BZI has been able to adopt what Roomi calls “best-in-class security” without needing to build a large internal team to develop its cybersecurity solutions.
