This stat stopped me in my tracks: In Australia’s SaaS and tech sector, only 29% of employees are women. And ethnic minorities remain underrepresented in leadership roles. Which is a problem. But when companies rush to “solve” diversity, this is problematic too. It screams perception over progress. True inclusion requires fostering a workplace where every voice is valued. Leaders need to call out exclusive environments and existing biases. Focus needs to be put on systemic change and investing in ongoing development.  Studies show that diverse teams outperform non-diverse ones by 35%. 👋Hi Australians, We need to talk about your performance… …Australia is at a turning point where performance and ROI per employee are under the microscope for every hire and restructure. Despite what many think, flexible work actually did exist before COVID, it’s just that the pandemic forced us to finally adopt it properly. We proved it DOES work, but something’s missing in a lot of workplaces: #accountability, #KPIs, #trust, #teamwork, and #performancemanagement. 👆Without these, both your WFH or RTO policy is doomed to fail. 💡Employers: Get these right, or productivity will suffer. 💡Employees: Master them, or your success will be limited. It looks like WFH-Hybrid alone isn’t a silver bullet either - it’s not efficient re productivity. Despite more hours worked, only 58% of Australians report no drop in productivity when WFH, and 46% of employers worry about managing it. The only way we can move forward is to put performance under the microscope.🔬

A recent report from Sonder really highlights why I’m hearing so much about it. Sonder found that 49% of AUS and NZ employees in their 2023 survey were experiencing feeling of burnout and exhaustion. It's not every day you get the opportunity to sit in a room with many of the most forward-thinking TA Managers in Australia but thanks to TQSolutions we had the opportunity to do just that through an Employer Brand MasterClass. So what were some of the key takeaways? ✨ Whilst Australia might not be as far along as say the US or Europe in regards to Employer Brand/Recruitment Marketing as a formal function that's not because of a lack of interest or appetite from the talent leaders we spoke to and if you watch this space I think you'll see some big shifts over the next 2-3 years. ✨Talent is the lifeblood of every business and TA Leaders need to ensure they're tapped into the metrics that matter and can demonstrate to the SLT how this influences the bottom line of the company. ✨We need to move away from "maximising applications" and work on ensuring the right people are applying and even being so transparent and honest that candidates who aren't the right can see that themselves and don't end up applying There were so many more great conversations (too many to recount) but this write up definitely covers the key areas #recruitmentmarketing #employerbrand #talentattraction #talentacquisition #recruitment

In a recent interview with ANZ People Matters Global our Chief People Officer, Pat Wadors, shared invaluable insights on how to effectively engage and support Gen Z in the workplace.
