Green cloud computing shows how sustainability can spur technological advancements. 🌿 Talent Attraction and Retention: Today’s workforce, particularly millennials and Gen Z, prioritize working for companies committed to sustainability. A study by Cone Communications found that 76% of millennials consider a company’s social and environmental commitments when deciding where to work. Embedding sustainability in managed services can attract and retain top talent. At Fujitsu, our Green IT initiative was a game-changer. Big news overnight from SAP Interesting to consider the implications generally, there's an important role for marketing to bring the customer voice and perspective to board level discussions but time and again it gets pushed to lower levels (even with some organisations disbanding the CMO role to then reinstate it later on). Is the "colouring-in department" perception winning the tug of war?? With more discussion of bothism in marketing circles, is there a need to educate board members without a marketing background on the business benefits of both short term "performance" marketing with long term "brand building" marketing? @Cognizant has launched a new report with Oxford Economics, titled The AI Advantage: Why ANZ is Positioned for Gen AI Success, revealing that businesses in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) plan to invest $15 million in Gen AI this year, which is higher than the global average of $12.5 million.    The report identifies regional and business factors that could either inhibit or accelerate Gen AI momentum, with ANZ’s momentum score being 15% higher than the global average. While this shows the region’s strong confidence in Gen AI’s transformative power, ANZ leaders have above-average concerns about current and prospective employee perceptions and Gen AI’s impact on sustainability.    To scale Gen AI safely, ANZ businesses should create an ecosystem of partnerships that foster talent development and innovation, prioritise AI literacy, prepare their operations for Gen AI, and focus on feasible use cases that can deliver high value quickly. Deloitte is an amazing place to be. So much depth & understanding of the profound changes happening in the #automotive sector, but also very practical work 🇩🇪 For example: How can OEMs ensure (at scale) that #software updates are 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 in an environment of current &future vehicle platforms? How can they use compatibility checks to reduce field errors, avoid physical recalls or take down the cost of quality whether the update is over the air #OTA or On-board/workshop flashing? How does a car maker choose between different mitigations for safety-critical updates across variants whether that's creating a derivative feature, trimming down a SW features capability, dividing an update into smaller file sizes or simply informing an owner to take the vehicle to a workshop.   *One* way to achieve 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 for SW updates is to get more systematic about the SW update decision making process throughout a vehicle's life cycle: 🎬 Maintaining a pristine catalogue & understanding of compatibility requirements across a range of variants 🎧 Curating detailed constraint-based test cases informed by statistical models e.g. endurance tests based on a risk-register 🧠 Support a regression test strategy by automatically analyzing dependencies and ramifications in the code base. A car maker would then anchor SW releases with simulation testing followed by physical drives on reference vehicle variants as a final check of adherence. Thus limiting impact of SW faults to vehicle performance, compliance or quality. Some use-cases that illustrates why it is crucial to be deliberate about backwards compatibility: Use-case #1: 🚗 Lets say Car Brand A launches an #EV model this year, and let’s say in three years safety critical features are available but are more CPU-intensive, consuming more resources. To avoid stalling innovation the car maker decides to upgrade the compute hardware in the *new* EV model line-up. However the older vehicles in the field still need to receive this SW update... Use-case #2: 🛢️A vehicle has a set of certification requirements that should not be violated because of new features. Often its not 100% known whether a vehicle's certification would be compromised by an update. Use-case #3: ⚡There is a limitation of a specific Ah per SW update because of a conventional vehicle's low voltage battery or in the case of an EV the update is targeting the charging system or drive train. In both cases vehicles needs a workshop, where external power supply can be provided.... Use-case #4: 📜 A flashing campaign can break pre-conditions leading to partial updates on ECU's. EU's UN156 regulation states a base-line (HW/SW) is needed for a customer to operate a vehicle. What if a baseline becomes off-nominal?
