Some ANZ security data from G2's Buyer Behavior Report. Almost 80% of companies (across SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise) require a security or privacy assessment when purchasing software. What will be interesting is what percentage of software buyers say they go around their company's security assessment - that will be coming soon. From the data - "security matters until it matters for you" - then there is always a reason to not go through the security assessment. #security #itsecurity

Incentives to safeguard PPI data will likely come from punitive fines that drive boardroom decisions to fund CISOs and Tech/Product leaders aiming to create secure, scalable software. Government needs to take action to prevent further breaches by regulating more strictly. MediSecure's loss of healthcare data of 12.9M people in the latest cyber incident that shows the lack of investment in cyber resilience in healthcare. As is quickly becoming the norm in BFSI, government and healthcare providers should stipulate compliance to cyber standards during procurement and for on-going renewal. As with regulation for safety in cars that we now take for granted, e.g. airbags and seat-belts, this should become a standard. Its not good enough when your personal data is compromised by companies we trust to provide core services.

Chatbots – love them or hate them? I am a fan (obviously 😂)! However, we like to call them agents or assistants as they have evolved from the basic chat bubbles in the corner of websites into valuable assets that almost all businesses should have in the next couple of years. With ever-changing technology, my team and I spend our days teaching and training the new evolution of Gen AI "bots" in a business's tone of voice, aligning them with the brand, offerings, and assets such as knowledge bases to enhance self-service. This allows customers to handle simple repetitive tasks themselves, and even increasingly complex tasks like applying for accreditation or requesting quotes, resulting in a more positive experience when interacting with a business. We reverse-engineer the entire process of each step the "bot" takes to help the user reach their goal. We map out the needs of our customers and craft modern "bots" to ensure they can predict and adapt to conversations, understanding the visitor's intent and requirements. This supports users by quickly, efficiently, and engagingly solving their questions, problems, or processes they are trying to carry out. 🙌

“Top sales reps don't get laid off”   I've seen this a few times recently.   On paper it's hard to dispute.   But let me tell you a quick story.   In 2021 I helped a pre-IPO firm build their GTM team in ANZ.   We spent a year recruiting the best folk in the industry.   AEs. SEs. CSMs. Channel. SDRs.   All genuine A-players.   They did great. Signed some big logos. Tracking well.   Then the CEO announced they were pulling out of ANZ.   The entire team was let go including the VP.   It was properly shit. We felt terrible but no one saw it coming.   Now I can't speak for the rest of the world, but if hiring in APAC you've got to take this into account. Many SaaS firms completely pulled out of region here. Stop assuming good people dont get laid off. Being ignorant will cost you.   #techsales #gotomarket #saasrecruitment

The top decile enterprise sales leaders I’ve met enable their reps with one thing in particular, that the bottom 90% neglect. Across the several hundred revenue, sales, and value leaders I’ve spoken to as we’ve built Minoa, there’s a recognition that proving value and ROI is tough. Now, hand that responsibility over to a rep too busy dealing with admin, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for miscommunication and lack of customer buy-in. We get this question all the time - “how do I get reps to adopt our value selling initiative”? This frames it as an issue related to rep discipline, when the problem has nothing to do with this. It’s not that reps don’t see the point - they just don’t know how to navigate communicating the quantitative impact of your product’s value. The very best sales leaders empower their reps with clear frameworks of how quantitative impact (be it for revenue, cost, time etc.) maps to value drivers and use cases. Proving value can be hard, but having the power to communicate and match product value to measurable business outcomes in a long and complex sales cycle cuts through the noise. Oh, “lightning-fast” NBN internet for Australia, is FINALLY here to take us to...what, 2010 speeds? After a decade of empty promises & $$ billions thrown around, we’re supposed to cheer now? Yeah, let’s all clap because they've managed to reach nine million properties, probably leaving out rural areas where they think kangaroos are a greater concern than connectivity. & they call it "simple to set up"—right, until you need to call the support line &] end up on hold for longer than it takes to download a 4K movie on this "lightning" network. But here’s the real kicker: they hike up the prices as if they’re offering a first-class ticket to the digital age, while the rest of the world just walks on by. Want to upload a video or do a Zoom call without freezing like a pixelated ghost? That'll be $100 a month, thank you. & let’s be real, “supercharge” sounds grand until you realize it's just putting a turbo on a tricycle, going nowhere fast. So, what’s next? Another ten years until everyone has access to this so-called “lightning”? Or maybe by then, they’ll launch “super-duper lightning,” & it’ll cost double.
