When Power BI launched in 2015 at $10 (USD) per seat for Power BI Pro, most of us thought it was a reasonable cost for the capabilities it provided. We've had nearly a decade of amazing innovation going into the product with no price rise. I was always amazed at the fact that the price didn't go up but was very grateful. Today, Microsoft announced that they are increasing the cost of Power BI Pro and Power BI Premium per User (PPU) licenses. This was inevitable, and I for one don't think we can complain given that the prices have been static for 9 years. I would have liked to see a gradual increase though. 40% increase for Pro in one hit does hurt. #PowerBI #MicrosoftFabric https://lnkd.in/gyY9de6Z

After a very relaxing and enjoyable break I am re-entering the workforce starting in the role of Key Account Executive at Qlik. But before I get to that, having an extended break was the tonic I needed. Having never taken much time off, I only now realize that I was an 8cyl engine running on 4cyl with dirty fuel. I needed the time off to reset and recharge. I strongly encourage everyone to take a step back once in a while. Do it for yourself and do it for your loved ones. Now to the next exciting adventure. During my discussions with #Qlik and my own research I was impressed with their broad offering which enables government to activate AI within their Enterprise. And trust me when I say impressed because for many of you, you know it takes a lot for a piece of technology to really capture my attention. From change data capture, data integration through to AI/ML, visualisation and their newest release called Qlik Answers which is an all new knowledge assistant that delivers personalised, relevant answers to questions generated from a variety of unstructured data sources. It's this end to end set of integrated capabilities that I'm most excited to see deliver real value for the #Australian #government as they seek to leverage #data insights for citizen outcomes.
