With the bond market shenanigans of 2022 still weighing on income investors' minds, it's important to ask what is real and what is myth. To do that, PIMCO managing director and head of Australia, Rob Mead, suggests focusing on starting yields. "The starting yield on your portfolio today is more or less the return you can expect on that portfolio over the next three to five years”. “Starting yields in 2022 were low, so we shouldn't be surprised by finding things weren't so attractive. 2023, which saw positive returns for bonds, was much more reflective of bond performance when starting yields are higher”. Someone questioned me why is it that my posts talk of bad about NAB. What is wrong there. ? I said: My friend - You have not read my posts in depth. There is a deeper meaning and thoughtful opinion to my posts. I never indicated that NAB is bad. It is always that some of wrong acts and tactics by #toxic leaders spoils name of organisation and because of them at times some really #greatleaders in organisation are also roped in since they blindly trusted toxic leader(s). My view is one should not be victim of such toxic leaders. A toxic leader is one who has - only title, blame others, escalates for no cause, acts 2 face, autocratic, micromanages, sabotages, has a feeling of insecurity, disorientate , embrangles with baseless thoughts, misappropriate the facts , plots and frame false stories on his own, authoritative, commanding, doesn't know how to lead, unable to manage performance of team well and many others. I explained the fact that the bank is great. Talent is great. Infact, the work I was doing last @ NAB with my India and #Australia colleagues, I loved 😍. However partial acts of a newly joined #toxic leader who acted biasedly with another toxic leader and further accountable leaders failures to deal with fairness complicated everything and made entire #tenure #life 1000 times hell. The accountable leaders who blindly trusts the toxic leaders, and their failure to understand and realise the #reality , their failure to take the coginzance of the legitimate concerns raised against a toxic leader(s), their failure to act unbiasedly and their failure to recognise what is right creates a breach in ethos of organisation and hence the #culture. Accountable leaders rather than taking appropriate action when starts safeguarding the 2 faced toxic #leaders, it is where that spoils the entire #culture at #workplace. At same time, due to their own insecurity they victimize the innocents by hook or by crook using the malpractices. Impugned orders or actions from senior acccountable leaders who acted under blind trust of other toxic leaders, without knowing facts, true stories sometimes flashes a bad name for entire great organisation and impacts the relation and trust amongst #colleagues. #People #culture #leaders #innovation #story #Jobs #hiring #harassment #Fightforjustice

Current Recruitment Market is seeing: * Stabilization in the Labor Market, * Sector-Specific Divergences, & * Moderation in Costs and Wages Stabilization in the Labor Market: NAB's latest employment index has normalized to +2 index points, indicating a stabilization rather than a decline in employment. This shift is in like from our employment data. It suggests that the intense labor demand seen in recent years is moderating, aligning recruitment activities with sustainable growth patterns. Sector-Specific Divergences: Different sectors are experiencing varying trends. While mining, manufacturing, and construction see declines in forward orders, services sectors like finance, business & property, and recreation & personal services remain strong. Moderation in Costs and Wages: There is a noticeable moderation in labor and input costs, along with a slowdown in retail price growth. NAB economists see this easing of cost pressures may lead to more balanced wage growth and potentially more flexible hiring budgets, offering opportunities to attract talent with competitive salaries. For the past six months, we've noticed a resurgence of second income earners re-entering the market. These individuals typically start with part-time roles at minimal hours and gradually seek to increase their hours after several months.

National Vendor Discounting Hits 2-Year Low at 3.5% 📉 The median vendor discount across Australia has fallen to 3.5% in the April quarter, according to CoreLogic – the lowest level in two years! This slight drop from 3.6% in the March quarter suggests a strengthening market 🏡. Australian Unemployment Rate Stays Remarkably Low In a testament to the resilience of the job market, Australia's #unemployment rate has barely nudged, sitting at 3.8% in March after a slight increase from February's 3.7%. Travel (Buy Now Pay Later) Now for those who are in Good Life stage i.e they have steady income stream coming in and can afford to spend some cash, there are many interest-free lending possibilities available in Australia & we would be looking into these at various different product categories. Since travel has become a lot more expensive post-covid & BNPL schemes have been well adopted during this time, it was only logical that these two would come together especially for family travel where each individual fare can add up to a very high total travel spend.
