🌟 Elevating Digital Services with the Australian Government’s Digital Service Standards (DSS) 🌟 In today’s digital era, delivering exceptional government services requires adherence to robust standards. The Australian Government’s Digital Service Standards (DSS) are designed to ensure that digital services are user-centered, efficient, and inclusive. Here’s a look at the 13 key criteria that guide effective digital service delivery: Understand User Needs: Research and align with what users truly need. Have a Multidisciplinary Team: Assemble a team with diverse skills for comprehensive service development. Agile and User-Centered Process: Develop iteratively with a focus on user experience. Understand Tools and Systems: Integrate seamlessly with existing government systems. Provide a Consistent User Experience: Ensure a uniform and accessible design across platforms. Encourage Reuse: Leverage existing systems and components for efficiency. Ensure Privacy and Security: Safeguard user data and meet security standards. Make It Accessible: Design for inclusivity and accessibility for all users. Test the Service: Continuously test and refine based on user feedback. Measure Performance: Track key performance indicators and service effectiveness. Use Open Standards and Code: Implement open standards and share code to enhance transparency. Address Device and Platform Needs: Ensure functionality across various devices and platforms. Deliver Continuously: Maintain and improve the service post-launch based on user insights. By adhering to these criteria, we can create digital services that are not only functional but truly serve the needs of our diverse user base. Let’s commit to these standards and make government services more accessible and effective for everyone! 🌐✨ #DigitalTransformation #GovernmentServices #UserExperience #DigitalStandards #InclusiveDesign #AgileDevelopment https://lnkd.in/geffXHbB https://lnkd.in/gjF2nzvv

Tecala Group
For midmarket organisations to advance effectively, they need to focus on what Gartner identifies as the ‘five capabilities of alignment’: strong leadership, smart IT investments, a clear vision, a well-thought-out 3-5-year strategy, and solid relationships and partnerships. Investing wisely in IT entails prioritising cloud-enabled platforms. Companies that have embraced these solutions early have witnessed enhanced productivity and cost savings, paving the way for growth. IDC predicts that by 2025, 90% of a business's apps will be 'cloud-native', designed to run in the cloud and leverage its capabilities. Tecala’s Cloud Services are the most effective way to build a fully flexible and secure cloud model for your business. We partner with your IT and business teams to deliver cloud managed services consistently, with governance, security, performance monitoring, and cost control. Whether you need assistance moving to the cloud, migrating to a new platform, or extending your cloud services, we can help. As your business evolves, we provide business-appropriate cloud solutions through road mapping and ongoing management. https://lnkd.in/gn7NN859 #cloud #hybridcloud #publiccloud #privatecloud #multicloud #cloudservices #msp #tecala

Our latest #WorkTrendsIndex is here, and it shows Aussies are world-leaders when it comes to adopting #GenerativeAI. 84% of Australian knowledge workers use #GenAI at work, while the global average sits at 75%. It’s great news for skills and productivity, but the 2024 #WTI also found a disconnect between employees and leaders—with employees eager to use AI at work and unwilling to wait for companies to catch up, giving leaders the opportunity to channel this momentum into organisational impact. Building trust online is essential—not only for elections but for the integrity of our digital world. A recent study by Adobe reveals that nearly 80% of Australians are concerned that deepfakes will impact election outcomes. This isn't just a tech problem; it’s a societal challenge. Adobe’s Content Credentials aim to enhance transparency by verifying the authenticity of digital content, helping voters discern fact from fiction. However, as Jennifer Mulvey notes "any tool has its limitations, and we shouldn’t outsource our critical thinking responsibilities to purely technological solutions." It requires a collaborative effort from the government and industry leaders. https://ow.ly/nUOW30sGW1b #AdobeContentCredentials #FutureofTrust #Election2024 #GenerativeAI

Australia’s ICT industry saw the steepest fall in June 2024 at -30.0% among the top 10 industries. The ACT the worst in the last month, and the news gets worse with the ACT Labour/Greens increasing payroll tax that is already the highest in the country from 1st July 2025, and again in 2026. Be interesting to see if this raises revenue or has the reverse effect with more companies downsizing. https://lnkd.in/g7UsAYiF

ADAPT
As featured in TechDay Australia's IT Brief, ADAPT's 2024 Cloud and Infrastructure Edge survey has revealed key insights for Australian organisations. Economic pressures and AI adoption are reshaping cloud modernisation priorities, with 63% of leaders expecting improved operational efficiencies and 53% predicting reduced costs. However, talent scarcity, legacy systems, and funding remain top barriers. ADAPT's Head of Analytics, Gabby Fredkin, highlights, "Boards and CFOs are scrutinising every line-item, with IT costs under the magnifying glass.” He adds, “While the pressure to modernise is immense, the investments and skills needed aren't materialising quickly enough, leaving organisations grappling with technical debt and skyrocketing computing demands.” Understanding technical debt and the need for increased computing capabilities and power in the next two years are essential for modernisation. #CloudInfraEdge #CloudModernisation #AI #TechDebt #Infrastructure #CIO Read the full article: https://hubs.la/Q02Rbcm20

🔒 In today's digital world, the risks of relying on a single cloud provider for data storage are clear. The recent incident with Google accidentally deleting critical business data of UniSuper, an Australian retirement fund, underscores this. UniSuper’s ability to recover was only due to having backups with another provider. This highlights the importance of maintaining regular backups, and understanding your provider's policies.
