Our October BRI is now out. Showing we are still dealing with the fallout from the Pandemic with Food and Beverages Services bearing the worst of it. - The failure rate for Australian businesses is now at its highest level since the height of the pandemic in October 2020. - The average failure rate is now 5.04%, up from 3.97% in October last year. Our forecast is that it will continue to climb. - Food and Beverage Services recorded the highest failure rate of all industries in October, increasing to 8.5% on a rolling 12-month basis from 8.3% in the 12 months to September. CreditorWatch’s 12-month forecast is for the failure rate in the sector to rise further to 9.1%. Read the full insights from our Chief Economist - Ivan Colhoun below.

Sounds like an internal primary or secondary index 'skew' between different systems (or just a bug). Can happen when restoring records to a database in live use when changing a schema, as the precise order that sets the foreign key mappings used by the other system will not match... This might even be a stale cache somewhere.. Hence why you should always use synthetic keys when maintaining a relationship between two distinct databases, never use internal primary or secondary keys, just asking for trouble... #databreach #australia #databases #integrity

Another day, another data breach - this time 846GB taken from Victorian Freight Specialists, involving corporate, accounting, sales, customers, agents, and freight databases. Companies need to focus on securing their databases. Web sites are often directly interfaced with core business databases in a way that provides a 6 lane highway into the database, once the web server is cracked. There are ways of securing the data and offering online services at the same time, these techniques are discussed in depth in my book, see my profile for where to get it.
