What are the risks of not engaging stakeholders in renewable energy systems development?
Not engaging stakeholders in the development of renewable energy systems can pose various risks, including A lack of social acceptance leading to a loss of social license. Without involving local communities, residents, and other stakeholders, there's a risk of facing opposition or resistance to renewable energy projects. A lack of social acceptance can lead to protests, legal challenges, and delays in project implementation. Failure to do so may even result in the withdrawal of support from communities and stakeholders, jeopardizing the overall success of the renewable energy project. There's also a risk of overlooking the potential impact of projects on the local economy, culture, and livelihoods.

How can you report on ESG frameworks and standards effectively?
To effectively report on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks. I believe, it is essential align to to and be independently audited against international standards such as GRI of ISSB S1 and S2. Emissions targets need to be science based, data has to have 3rd party assurance and where any details are a little bit murky, this is highlighted and any assumptions made are highlighted. And clearly show how material issues (as identified within a materiality assessment) are being dealt with. It is not about tick boxing, Nor should reporting be used as a marketing exercise. Results should meaningful, material to you and in my case need to be comparable for investors.

What Renewable Energy industry conferences are essential for new professionals?
What Renewable Energy industry conferences are essential for new professionals? I would say none, none are essential. If you are new to the profession you should submerge your in all things renewable, conferences will certainly help. Personally, however, I feel I have never come away from a conference enlightened, no more than spending a few minutes reading through internet. Conferences are there to connect people for sure, most of the time, however, its designed for people selling stuff to connect with people buying stuff. I will caveat this and say, if you need a service or product then any conference is a good conference.
