The new streamlined Xero plans may require you to upgrade from your current subscription. Xero has promised a 60-day notice prior to them auto-transitioning but it would be good to stay ahead of that event. If you are on a GST Cashbook, Payroll Cashbook, Payroll Only, Starter, Standard and Premium Plans, make sure you chat with your advisor on the transition towards the new plans! The new plans come in 1 July 2024 and we have until March 2025 to transition. #xero #smallbusiness

As the end of the financial year approaches (30 June 2024), now is a good time to confirm that your NDIS business’s payroll is accurate and up to date. Accounting software firm Xero has provided a helpful summary of steps to follow. This process is the same whether you use Xero or not. Here are four steps to compile your payroll records: 1. Check your employees' records to ensure you have the correct employment type, income type and tax scale. This is applicable to current and terminated employees. 2. Review your pay items and their settings. This includes earnings, deductions, paid leave and allowances. 3. Process outstanding superannuation payments. 4. Are compliance fees dropping outside of New Zealand I wonder? And are firms with more modern systems and a more diverse range of services (delivered by team members not owners) more valuable? I’d be interested in hearing some perspectives on this
