Yesterday the Australian Government announced the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water would receive $23.0 million in 2024-25 to continue delivering the government's circular economy policy, program, and legislative functions. We desperately need a national framework and federal regulation - so this is a good start 👏 The big question I’ll be unpacking today at Coffs Waste Conference will be, “Has the 2024-25 Federal Budget gone far to promote sustainability, reduce waste, and transitioning to a more circular and low carbon economy?” Looking forward to chatting to industry as well as state and local government leaders about how Budget measures to increase circularity and reduce carbon emissions.
