I've wasted hundreds of hours on copy approval when working with our clients in sensitive verticals. Steal these 5 steps to help streamline the process! Navigating the labyrinth of copy approvals in sensitive verticals, especially those governed by regulatory bodies like the TGA, was a colossal time sink. **The Problem:** We were caught in a cycle of either using direct claim-based copy with disclaimers that turned away consumers or laboriously writing out all possible copy angles and supporting images/videos for approval, costing significant time and money. Realising that regulatory teams, despite their best efforts, often didn't understand the context or intent, leading to additional delays. **The Impact:** - Ineffective creative - Poor conversion rates - Waste of time for our team and clients - Increased frustration across the board **How We Streamlined the Process:** 1. **Focus on Benefits of the Claim:**    - Shifted from hard claim features to soft benefits that resonate better with consumers and reduce regulatory friction.    2. **Truncated Copy Options:**   - Presented truncated copy options and identified where disclaimers would appear, mainly utilising landing pages for detailed information. 3. **Copy Approval First:**   - Laid out ads as they would appear, using placeholder images and carousels, to move away from endless copy documents and spreadsheets. 4. **Share Final Versions Inside Ad Platforms:**   - Uploaded final versions directly into ad platforms instead of cumbersome design files, streamlining the approval process. 5. **Consistent Feedback Loop:**   - Established a consistent feedback loop with regulatory teams to ensure better understanding and quicker approvals. **The Result:** By implementing these changes, we shortened our timeline from brief to live from sometimes months to 2-3 weeks. ⚠️ BEWARE OF SCAMMERS PRETENDING TO BE FROM GOOGLE ADS ⚠️ Please share or interact with this post to raise awareness. If you run Google Ads for your clients, you may want to let them know. There is an increase in the volume of Google Ads related scams. If you get a call from somebody saying they are from Google, there is a chance that they just want to access your account. Somebody tried this today on a contact of mine. I'm not sure if they are trying to steal credit card details as well, or trying to get access to their Google Ads account. Either way, it was somebody pretending to be from Google. They have gone to the effort to register a web address that is similar to one that Google owns, but it is clearly a scam. Beware.

Australian 🇦🇺 and UK 🇬🇧 B2B tech founders and marketers ——— how do you keep your CAC down in the current market? The numbers we've been coming across over the last year seem extraordinarily high in many cases - see down below. Average CPL and CPA from digital channels like Meta, LinkedIn, and Google are higher than ever. Well, the ad rates might not be much higher, but generating actual qualified leads and converting customers is more expensive than a few years ago. Organic social and search are still difficult to put a cost on because so much content creation is seen as a non-expense (unless you're paying an agency to produce it and manage it), because team members and founders themselves doing a good job of personal branding and producing social content, especially on LinkedIn. And many outbound lead generation agencies are now operating on a hybrid performance-retainer model, which is actually proving more cost-effective than ever before. This is the space that I operate in. Based on the latest data 📊, here are the updated average customer acquisition costs (CAC) for SaaS companies in Australia and the UK (citations at bottom): Australia 🇦🇺 B2B SaaS, average CAC = AUD $325 Fintech SaaS, one of the highest CACs = AUD $1,650 eCommerce SaaS = AUD $400 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 B2B SaaS, average CAC = GBP £200-£250 Fintech SaaS, crazily high = GBP £1,200-£1,400 eCommerce SaaS = GBP £220-£250 In both countries, the other expensive SaaS categories are: ➮ AgTech = AUD $1,088, and GBP £554 ➮ InsuranceTech = AUD $1,957 and GBP £995 ➮ MedTech = AUD $1,408 and GBP £716 ➮ Project Management Tech = AUD $1,362, and GBP £693 Aside from eCommerce SaaS, the cheapest CACs are to be found in: ➝ LegalTech (which seems weird) = AUD $457, and GBP £232 ➝ Staffing/HR Tech = AUD $627, and GBP £319 When calculating Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), my opinion is that it's crucial to account for all marketing and sales expenditures, not just digital channels. So this should include the cost of your sales operation (excluding staffing) and offline lead generation (which is usually overlooked as a contributor the CAC, especially in the SaaS industry). +𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗬𝗼𝗬) 📈🚀 A few people have asked me for an update on a recent project I posted last week (they haven't really but I'll post this anyway). Link to the original post in comments. Yesterday we saw a +1,000% increase in new customers from Google Ads (YoY). Overall revenue was also up X5. The secret❓ Well, there's been a few changes, but the number one change in recent weeks has been: ✅ Building out properly setup Search Campaigns, with accurate targeting, a 10/10 setup, customisation and most importantly AB Testing & Experimentation. Such an underrated and under utilised technique. Search is still number 1 for me (over Pmax, Shopping or any other campaign type). These are 100% legitimate results, reported from the Shopify platform, not based on Google Ads data. #google #googleads #cpc #ppc

Want more eyeballs on your business Facebook Page? Well now you can. What’s the change? In Traffic campaigns you now have the option to send people to your Instagram profile or visit your Facebook page, or both. Previously you could use this objective to increase Instagram profile visits (and maybe increase followers, although I’ve not found that to be an effective strategy). Why would you use it? If you have a new or an unloved Facebook business page and want to encourage more people to see it, this could be an option. But, set your expectations accordingly. Traffic is only traffic.  These ad campaigns are cheaper for a reason. It’s people who are browsing and viewing, not completing other actions. It won’t make them like your page or buy from you or do anything else. So if awareness is your goal, great, if not, choose wisely. Have you seen this change yet? #MetaAds #DigitalMarketing
