Practice Plus Partners with Manage My Health to Simplify Appointment Bookings Through App Integration 👩‍⚕️📱 Practice Plus, in partnership with Manage My Health, has launched a Practice Plus integrated booking portal that allows patients to book appointments directly through the Manage My Health portal. This integration addresses a critical issue facing the New Zealand Health industry by allowing patients faster access to health services when in need and alleviating pressure on practices. This collaboration enables patients to book appointments with Practice Plus via the Manage My Health portal, particularly during afterhours or when their regular GPs are unavailable. This integration significantly reduces the administrative effort and time required to schedule a telehealth appointment. Practices that are part of the Practice Plus network have the option to activate this feature for their patients. In the first roll out, practices under 17 PHOs across New Zealand, who are using Manage My Health have the potential to access Practice Plus services, provided the practice enables the feature. Jess White, General Manager at Practice Plus, said the integration is a huge step forward in increasing access to telehealth appointments for our communities who need them. "Practice Plus continues to support more and more practices across the motu, ensuring their patients have access to telehealth appointments in the evening, weekends and when they can't get an appointment with their regular GP. We must capture patient details when they sign up; however, with the portal automatically populating this information, it reduces much of the admin process and will support more people to use the service for them or their whānau," she said. Practices retain control over the activation of the Practice Plus, ensuring they can promote the service in a way that complements their existing operations and supports the sustainability of the general practice business model. Vino Ramayah, CEO of Manage My Health, commented on the integration: "The addition of the Practice Plus booking portal enhances the tools available to our users, fostering better health management from a single platform. It also expands access to support outside of regular hours." Mr. Ramayah looks forward to further collaboration with Practice Plus as the service expands. Practice Plus is accessible from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. Patients whose practices are enrolled with Practice Plus and have enabled the portal can now book directly through the app. Appointments can also be made via the Practice Plus website at www.practiceplus.nz. The Department of Health and Aged Care has released a new 24/7 nursing API that enables providers to directly report care minutes to the government. The API can be integrated by aged care software vendors into their systems once they have passed a conformance process with the Australian Digital Health Agency. The care minutes initiative mandates direct care from registered and enrolled nurses and personal care attendants, with current targets for the sector at 201.70 minutes of direct care per resident per day, including 40 minutes of nursing care. Once the API is integrated, aged care providers can report the 24/7 nursing figures directly into GPMS. Provider management and authentication APIs have also been released into the production environment. Another API for quality indicators has been released into the software testing environment. Latest figures show that 52 per cent of aged care providers are meeting their total care minutes targets, and 46 per cent are meeting the nurse minute targets. #digitalhealth #agedcare #healthtechnology #innovation #digitaltransformation #nursinginformatics

Sad news about the Health NZ Data & Digital cuts. We are a member of the Digital Health Association and while Health as a sector has long been challenging for tech innovators to engage with, there are some fantastic people at Health NZ. They have technical folk with vision and they simply need to execute on what they want to do - it took time to deal with covid and organise after. I look forward to the DHA calling for a positive and practical strategy to come out of this. With NZ's health system there isn't really a way to avoid working with the public sector if you want to make change in health or health-adjacent areas. Hopefully however this plays out, there is recognition of the need for investment in Health Tech - and looking at some ways to keep progressing the change and view to the future of what is needed. https://lnkd.in/gpq2MnAV

It’s really obvious that to improve health outcomes in the population means investing in helping people stay well; that is additionally challenging for those with socioeconomic complexity. Our health funding constructs are not set up to incentivise prioritisation of maintaining wellness in community. Not an easy problem to fix but one worth collective investment across state, federal, non-profits and private’s to invest time to un-pick the complexity and simplify funding to promote wellness.

It feels like 2017… huge multiples for Radiology businesses in the press leading to smaller operators with inflated expectations… From experience working on transactions in the last cycle 🔄 : - multiples for individual/ small group Radiology practices are generally <50% of what is discussed “on the street”. The 17 x as referenced above the paywall in the AFR becomes an unrealistic reference point - any sale of a Radiology business is associated with an ongoing work relationship. The structure or which is as important as the $ - there is a risk that founders, who have worked hard to build a businesses based on clinical excellence and tight teams, get tempted by the biggest cheque (to get close to lofty expectations), then struggle working in an environment to deliver on the “multiple + upside” - transactions can take a toll and generally require more founder exertion than expected. Starting with realistic expectations is a good starting point. At Core Connect Group (CCG) we want to see risk takers and hard workers get what they deserve. It's time to celebrate success! For the last few years, Semantic Consulting has been working on assessing digital health maturity in a range of healthcare sectors: General Practice, Aged Care, Allied Health and Pharmacy. We're working with almost half of the Primary Health Networks (PHNs) and have delivered a large number of important insights into digital health maturity, and the characteristics of health services at different stages of their digital health maturity journeys. We're not just interested in who is using which clinical information systems. That is important to know. But what we're really interested in is how do you get the heart of why digital change in healthcare is hard work. What are the true blockers to digital transformation in healthcare, and does the data align with the common (but anecdotal) narratives that we tell ourselves. How are systems being used? How ready is a health service for digital change? How ready are their patients? What is the level of data and digital literacy? What clinical leadership is in place to support digital change? Today we passed 1,000 survey responses from Australian General Practice. An amazing data set, from which we're looking to publish some of our key findings (in partnership with academia) in the coming months.
