On 1 February 2021, the Myanmar military staged a coup d'état and seized power against the will of the people, plunging the country into a deep political, economic and humanitarian crisis.
[The description below was written in 20212]
The Myanmar social, political and economic environment is rapidly changing. After years of isolation, there is now an unprecedented interest in the country.
Economic sanctions are lifting, Myanmar's investment policy is changing and external investment interest is growing.
These changes are translating into a tremendous need for the provision of quality business information, advice and services for those who are charged with researching and executing business opportunities in Myanmar.
This LinkedIN group aims to be a 'business intermediary' forum; bringing together outside business groups (prospective clients) and in-country consultants (service providers) to begin introductory discussions about a range of issues relating to Myanmar (Burma).

The Democracy for Burma campaign – in association with The Art Syndicate Gallery in Surry Hills Sydney – will host a month-long ‘Semiotics of Protest: A Burmese Inspired Protest Art Exhibition’ opening 12 Noon – Sunday 16th May 2021.
Badiucao is set to open the new Burmese Inspired Protest Art Exhibition (NB bio below)
Gallerist Saxon Strauss says, “Reaching out to Badiucao to launch this Burmese inspired protest art exhibition was an easy decision. He understands the plight of the Burmese people.”
Since the February 1st failed coup, the people of Burma have suffered greatly. The brutal military crackdown in Burma has seen more than 800 people killed, freedom of speech quashed and countless documented cases of human rights abuses, including torture and rape. Artists and poets have also been actively targeted.
Artworks have been sourced by LTT in collaboration with Fine Acts, Human Rights Foundation and Arts Help.
Drawing on a long history of protest art activism coming out of Burma, D4B aims to use the exhibition as a vehicle to raise public awareness about the unfolding crisis in Burma.
Funds raised from the sale of artwork during the exhibition will be directed to emergency medical relief groups and the civil disobedience movement (#CDM) in Burma.

This new report series should be read by people reporting on, critically assessing, investing in, or currently conducting business in Myanmar.
CONTRIBUTORS
Founding contributors hail from America, Australia, Britain, France, Germany, India and Myanmar. Together they are set to engage analysts, researchers, reporters and readers hungry for up-to-date accurate insider information and analysis on Myanmar.
Significantly, MIR’s value is derived from an evolving collaborative and transparent report production process. Contributors are expected to innovate and cooperate. To this end each contributor must agree to collaboratively meet head-on the challenges of researching and reporting in Myanmar.
The aim is to build trusting relationships in Myanmar that will help circumvent the lack of transparency, poor access to data and the myriad difficulties associated with securing interviews with key people. Report research standards require contributors to base their work on 50% open source research and 50% primary research; conducted primarily by way of interviews with authoritative sources.
