The latest SEEK Employment Dashboard for April 2024 reveals statistics that shed light on Australia's dynamic job market. According to the report: Job Opportunities: April witnessed an 18.6% decline in job ads nationwide compared to last indicating a tight market. SEEK - what’s going on ????????? Our beloved seek has held the reigns for advertising domination in the job market for some time in Australia. In allied health we have mass amounts of businesses reporting they are advertising for 6+ months without a single suitable local candidate. Even with inflated advertised salaries - still no interest. Where? These reports are coming in from every state but especially in NSW, Victoria and Queensland. I really feel for everyone in the industry - this feedback tells us there just isn’t the candidates in the market. My advice for businesses still advertising…. 🥕 determine what the major carrots are that attract people to your company and make sure they are right at the top of your advert 💰 Posting salary ranges are proven to increase apply rates 📝 describing your recruitment process can take some anxiety and hesitation away from applicants There’s always a place for advertising and there’s always a place for recruitment help. The recruitment industry is facing a challenge: finding the right candidates while trying to reduce costs. As a recruitment agency, we understand the importance of investing in platforms like Seek.com and LinkedIn. However, we have seen a significant decrease in results despite spending more on these platforms than ever before. We don't just post job openings and hope for the best. We identify talented candidates and market them to our clients. So, what's the solution? Should we accept the loss and reduce our fees, or push back against our two biggest providers of candidates? It's unlikely that any agency or company would agree with the current fees. It's time for the industry to take a stance and work together to find a solution that benefits everyone.
