The Challenge: to design build and deliver foundational selling skills to one of Australia’s largest and oldest selling enterprises of logistic and network services and products.

The Objective: “Build an EFFECTIVE, respected and disciplined sales team, deliver improved RESULTS for the enterprise through a VALUE BASED consultative approach, establish TRUST and ADVOCACY with customers and build a team of MATURE business LEADERS delivering sustainable business results with a NEW APPROACH and new sales conversations.”

The Delivery: Foundational skills was part of the over all Sales Academy design.

The skills was offered to over 200 sellers across a family of sellers within the enterprise including “face to face” as well as “call center” or out bound sales personnel.

Nine days of classroom training over a 14-month delivery period.

The sales coaching was unique in its nature as it incorporated three key components.
    1. Classroom delivery
    2. Sales Leaders delivery of assessment and
    3. Sales Graduation deployed over a three-day intensive workshop based on an industry case study that really challenged the participant’s selling skills.

The objective of Sales Graduation was “test” the skills offered in the first six days of classroom training being CFS – Customer Focused Selling and AST - Advanced Solution Selling. The Sales Leaders of the enterprise were the assessing agents and played the dual role of assessor and customer, in the four role-plays offered during Sales Graduation.

The Result: A significant shift in the quality of business conversations by the sellers with their clients. A move from product to solution and a focus on the clients needs on not those of the selling enterprise. Customers were shown the “buyers advantage” of the enterprises products and services. This has resulted in increased quality of opportunities and an improved sales close rate and improved customer loyalty.
