LANTHANEIN RESOURCES LIMITED (ASX:LNR, OTC:FRNRF) will accelerate work programs at the Lady Grey #lithium, #gold, #copper and #nickel project in Western Australia after raising A$2.2 million, before costs, in a placement. Firm commitments have been received from sophisticated investors for the placement and the company will issue 488 million shares at 0.45 cents per share. Funds raised will be used primarily to fund exploration, including drilling at the Lady Grey Project in a #criticalminerals hotspot. Lanthanein technical director Brian Thomas said: “The identification of multiple new gold, copper and nickel anomalies picked up by the recent tenement-wide soil sampling program adds another dimension to the project-wide prospectivity of Lady Grey following the discovery of two large lithium anomalies, Godzilla and Avenger in the soil program." The company’s major project is the Storm copper play on Somerset Island in Nunavut, Canada, which has a resource of 17.5Mt at 1.2% copper and 3.4g/t silver and is currently being progressed through exploration and from there to development. #AW1 has now embarked on its largest exploration season yet with more rigs, more electromagnetics and geophysics mapped out to build the existing resource and look for new copper deposits in the Storm area an beyond. This is expected to deliver regular news flow from the exploration though O’Neill adds that the company is also doing a lot of environmental work, which will help with permitting for the project. Already, the ongoing moving loop electromagnetic survey being carried out as part of this season has already identified a growing collection of conductive anomalies, some of which are adjacent to known copper deposits and mineralisation. “We are also doing a lot of study work, mine study, metallurgical study, that’s very advanced and going very well and also doing a lot of planning for next year as well,” he told Stockhead. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠? T2 Metals had 29m before this raise, now just over 40m. 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬? This was a great question often repeated. We upscaled the financing a little to ensure we can commit to the process of discovery, not rely on a lucky hole. We've entered into an option agreement with Astralis Resources to acquire the Uley North Graphite Project in South Australia. This project is highly prospective, located in a premier graphite region within the Hutchison Group, adjacent to Quantum Graphite Limited's Uley Graphite Mine and southwest from Renascor Resources Limited’s Siviour Graphite Deposit; the world's 2nd largest Proven Graphite Reserve, which is now nearing development. Previous drilling has shown promising results, and initial assessments have identified several exploration targets. The acquisition terms include a $75k cash payment for a 3-month sole option, with potential future payments in shares and performance rights contingent on exploration milestones. The clean energy revolution's demand for graphite, especially in lithium-ion batteries, makes this acquisition strategically significant. We are undertaking an equity raising of ~$2.9 million to fund this acquisition, with oversubscribed placement indicating strong investor interest. The entitlement offer will open on April 26th, 2024, and Westar Directors plan to participate in it. Executive Director Lindsay Franker commented, “Westar has commenced a detailed review of existing datasets and is currently undertaking ground truthing to obtain an understanding of the graphite potential of the Uley North Project, strategically located in one of the world’s largest and most prolific coarse graphite provinces in the world. We are currently planning our exploration programs and are considering detailed airborne EM Surveys that we expect will unlock the graphite mineralisation potential of the Project. CBA predicts further 13% drop in iron ore price Commonwealth Bank of Australia: "Based on the current supply structure of the iron ore market from BHP's latest economic and commodity outlook, a sustained 8 per cent/year fall in China's steel production would justify $US90/t. A sustained ~10%/year decline in China's steel production would justify $US80/t." Commonwealth Bank of Australia suggests that the price of iron ore may experience a downturn, with analysts warning of the possibility of a drop to $US80 per tonne. This forecast could spell trouble for major ASX-listed iron ore producers BHP Group Ltd, Rio Tinto Ltd, and Fortescue Ltd. Each of these stocks is in the red this year amid a weaker iron ore price and sluggish global demand. Let's take a look. Iron ore price at risk of falling sharply The iron ore price currently hovers around US$92.26 per tonne. Commonwealth Bank's Dhar suggests a further slide could be imminent. Dhar projects a potential US$80 per tonne iron ore price, marking a 13% decline from current levels. The key driver here is weak demand from China, which has been struggling with underwhelming industrial output, retail sales, and fixed asset investment, according to The Australian. In August, China's property sector—a major consumer of steel—reported a 17% decline in new construction starts, continuing its downward trend from July. This has impacted the iron ore price. China's infrastructure sector, another significant contributor to steel demand, hasn't picked up the slack either. Dhar says investment in this sector contracted in four of the last five months. This could indicate a simultaneous slowdown in both infrastructure and property construction. Don’t think there’s a more topical topic than #Gold right now Copper ? Sure, it’s needed. Lithium, REE, iron ore. Yep, same thing If you gaze at the standard long term correlation for gold, which is with real interest rates, you’d be forgiven for thinking perhaps it should be weakening, or even just trading sideways. There are all sorts of reasons why it *might* go crazy, like monetary system collapse, huge sovereign debt positions. But what is happening - so it’s not a fundamental, there is no *might* about it - is huge Chinese buying. Western markets are selling into this, and even betting against the most opaque central bank in the worlds second largest economy that is alongside the worlds largest middle class. It’s not different this time, it’s just that this has never happened before ! I suspect these slides are going to take all weekend…
