We are proud to be a finalist for Miner of the Year at the Paydirt Media Pty Ltd #GMJ Gold Miner and Explorer of the Year Awards! While we didn't take home the top prize this year, being recognised among the best in the industry is a tremendous achievement for our team. Over the past 12 months, Westgold has experienced significant growth, solidifying our position as one of Australia’s top 5 gold producers. From the acquisition of Karora Resources and the Beta Hunt mine to continuing to drive innovation and excellence across our operations, this recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our entire team. A big congratulations to the winners, Perseus Mining Limited and Turaco Gold. We're excited to see what the future holds for the gold mining sector and look forward to continued success as we build on the momentum of this past year.

Let's throw it back this Thursday to 1905 with this group portrait of the Great Fingall Consolidated Gold Mines team. Between 1891 and 1929, Great Fingall produced an incredible 1.2 million ounces of gold from just 1.9 million tonnes of ore, with a remarkable recovered grade of 19.5 grams per tonne. All of this was achieved with manual labor and steam power, reaching depths of 789 metres underground. Today, we’re bringing this iconic mine back to life with modern technology. Development is already three months ahead of schedule, and production is set to begin in H2 FY25. Once up and running, Great Fingall will produce over 45,000 ounces of gold each year, continuing its legacy as one of Australia’s most iconic gold mines. 📸 : State Library of Western Australia

With a landholding spanning 3,200km² across two of the Australia’s greatest gold-producing regions - when it comes to options and opportunities for organic growth, Westgold (ASX, TSX: WGX) truly is spoilt for choice. In FY25 we are investing $50M in our highest value resource development and exploration drilling - and we continue to invest in our talented people too. Last month, we were delighted to announce that Clinton Kuehnapfel accepted the newly created role of Exploration Manager (right), pictured here with Project Geologist, Calvin Jones (left).
