🌟 Is Your Pet Prone to Skin Issues? 🌟 Some breeds of cats and dogs are more predisposed to skin problems due to their unique traits. Here are a few examples: 🐶 Dogs: 🐾 Bulldogs & Shar Peis: Wrinkly skin needs extra care to prevent infections. 🐾 Golden Retrievers: Often affected by allergies and dermatitis. 🐾 Dachshunds: Prone to black hair follicular dysplasia. 🐱 Cats: 🐾 Sphynx: Oily buildup on fur-free skin requires regular cleaning. 🐾 Persians: Long fur can mat and hide skin infections. 🐾 Bengals: Sensitive skin makes them more prone to allergies. 🛡️ Prevention is key! Regular grooming, a healthy diet and skin checks can help keep your pet comfortable and happy. ✨ Not sure if your pet’s breed is at risk? 🌟 Client Testimonial 🌟 "I can't speak highly enough about Donna at Waggy Dog for the outstanding job she’s done managing our social media. As a new veterinary clinic, we were eager to establish a strong online presence in our local community, and Donna has been instrumental in helping us do just that—right from the very start, even before we opened our doors. Donna has a true gift for capturing our clinic's personality and values in her posts. We regularly receive comments from our clients saying how much they enjoy our social media content, with many of them even asking, “Who is doing your social media?” It’s clear that Donna’s work is making a real impact. Her posts not only engage our clients but also help build a sense of connection with our community. One of the things I appreciate most about Donna is how easy she is to work with. Communication is always smooth, and sharing content is effortless. She listens to our needs, and the results speak for themselves. Thanks to Donna, our clinic’s social media has become a vibrant, informative space that our clients genuinely look forward to engaging with. Thank you so much, Donna, for all your hard work and dedication—your efforts have made a huge difference to our clinic’s online presence!" ~ Dr Lauren McCormick, Bottle Tree Vets 💜 #waggydog #waggydogmarketing #veterinary #vets #vetmarketing #vetsocialmedia #socialmediaforvets #customertestimonial #clientfeedback #customerreview #customerexperience #customerservice

🌟 Pet Safety on Balconies 🌟 Balconies can be a fun place for pets to enjoy fresh air and sunshine, but it's important to make sure they’re safe, too! Here are a few tips to keep your furbabies safe on balconies: 1. Secure the Space: Ensure railings or openings are covered to prevent small pets from slipping through. Pet-proof netting or screens can help make balconies safer. 2. Supervise & Restrict Access: Never leave pets unattended on a balcony. If they get startled or curious, they might try to jump or climb. 3. Mind the Height: Even with barriers, be cautious about how close your pet gets to the edge. Cats and some small dogs can get adventurous! 4. Provide Shade & Hydration: Balconies can get hot! Make sure there's a shaded spot and fresh water available to prevent overheating. 5. Watch for Toxic Plants: Some balcony plants are toxic to pets. Research pet-safe plants and keep harmful ones out of reach. A little preparation can make the balcony a safe and enjoyable spot for your pet! 🌞🐶🐱 💜 #waggydog #waggydogmarketing #petindustry #veterinary #petmarketing #vets #vetsocialmedia #petsocialmedia #socialmediaforpets #socialmediaforvets #PetSafety #PetCareTips #BalconySafety

🌟 Animals and Sweat: How Do Cats and Dogs Stay Cool? 🌟 Did you know cats and dogs DO sweat—but only through their paw pads? 🐾 Unlike humans, who rely on sweating to cool down, our pets have evolved other ways to beat the heat. 🌡️ 🐕 Dogs: Panting is their go-to cooling method. Rapid breaths help evaporate moisture and regulate their temperature. 🐈 Cats: While they rarely pant, cats use grooming to cool off—licking their fur leaves saliva that evaporates, much like sweat does for us. Both cats and dogs also instinctively seek shade, rest on cool surfaces and reduce activity to stay comfy. 💡 Pet Heat Tip: Always provide fresh water and a cool spot to rest on warm days. If your pet shows signs of overheating (excessive panting, drooling or lethargy), please contact your vet immediately. 📞 💜 #waggydog #waggydogmarketing #petindustry #veterinary #petmarketing #vets #vetsocialmedia #petsocialmedia #socialmediaforpets #socialmediaforvets #petsweat #petskin #animalsandsweat #heatsafety #coolpets

🌟 Not So Pet-Friendly Snail Pellets 🌟 Even in small quantities snail pellets are highly toxic and can be fatal if left untreated. 🐌 Furthermore, snail pellets marked 'pet safe' can still cause severe gastrointestinal signs and red blood cell damage. Symptoms of snail pellet poisoning include: 🐾 Panting 🐾 Drooling 🐾 Wobbly gait 🐾 Vomiting, Diarrhoea 🐾 Seizures 🐾 Muscles twitches & tremors ☢️ If you suspect that your pet has ingested snail pellets please seek veterinary attention IMMEDIATELY. When it comes to snail pellets the best prevention is NOT to use them. 💜 #waggydog #waggydogmarketing #petindustry #veterinary #petmarketing #vets #vetsocialmedia #petsocialmedia #socialmediaforpets #socialmediaforvets #snailpellets #poisons #petpoisons #pettoxicity #petsafety #dogsafety

🌟 BREED SPOTLIGHT: Tamaskan 🌟 Tamaskan dogs are a breed of dog from Finland that have been selectively bred to resemble a wolf. Similar in size to its cousin the German Shepherd, the Tamaskan has a thick coat and straight, bushy tail. It comes in three main colours of red-gray, wolf-gray and black-gray. Eyes are yellow through amber and brown, although light eyes are very rare. The Tamaskan is a good family dog, being gentle with children and accepting of other dogs. His high intelligence makes him an excellent working dog and the Tamaskan has been known to exceed in agility and obedience as well as sled racing. This pack dog prefers not to be left alone for long periods of time. It is better suited to other human or canine company. Be sure you are this dog's pack leader, providing plenty of daily mental and physical exercise to avoid separation anxiety. The average life-span of the Tamaskan is 14-15 years.💞 Do you have a Tamaskan?
