This week, Wagga Wagga had the honor of hosting a special Mayoral Reception at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. Her Excellency’s visit marked her first to our city since her appointment in July this year. During the reception, she had the opportunity to connect with members of our community, including First Nations Elders, as well as representatives from local businesses, government, and various organizations. A highlight of her visit was a tour of the National Art Glass Gallery, where she was warmly hosted by Gallery Director Dr Lee-Anne Hall and Assistant Curator Michael Scarrone. It was a privilege to have Her Excellency in Wagga Wagga and to showcase the vibrant culture and community spirit of our city.
