  • As the year winds down, many of us find ourselves reflecting on our professional journeys and setting career resolutions for the year ahead. Yet, the process of crafting meaningful, achievable goals can feel overwhelming—especially with the pressure to live up to ideals shaped by social media or traditional frameworks. What does it really take to set resolutions that align with our values and lead to lasting progress in our careers? Experiment with methods: Productivity is not universal. Experimenting with tools like time-blocking, journaling, or growth loops can help you figure out what supports your professional ambitions best. Set realistic, compassionate goals: Aspirational resolutions are inspiring but often abandoned because they overlook personal constraints or structural challenges. Align your goals with your resources, emotional well-being, and work environment. Embrace Flexible Frameworks: Traditional career advice often pushes linear thinking (e.g., SMART goals). Instead, newer approaches like Miller’s BRIDGE framework or Le Cunff’s growth loops invite adaptability, emotional alignment, and the acceptance of failure as part of professional growth. Focus on the Process, Not Just Outcomes: Instead of obsessing over titles, salaries, or promotions, shift your mindset to the experiences and “magic windows” of flow—moments of learning, connection, and fulfilment that happen along the way. Leverage Small Changes for Big Impact: Whether it’s negotiating more time for professional development, optimising your energy, or delegating tasks, small shifts in how you allocate resources can make a huge difference in achieving your career goals. As you plan your career resolutions for 2025, consider what truly aligns with your aspirations and circumstances. Start small: prioritise habits that bring purpose and progress into your workdays, and experiment with frameworks that resonate with you. Most importantly, remember that success is not about relentless optimisation but about steady, meaningful growth. What’s your career resolution for 2025? Share your thoughts! #TRESPTips #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceSuccess #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerDevelopment #LeadershipTips #WorkSmart #CareerTips #JobSearchTips #EmployeeEngagement

  • Australia's unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to 3.9% as of November, with 36,000 more people employed and 27,000 fewer unemployed. This decrease was partly due to more people transitioning from unemployment to employment. Employment rose by 0.2% as of November, continuing a steady growth trend since mid-2024, while the participation rate slightly fell to 67.0%. The employment-to-population ratio increased to 64.4%, marking a 2.2 percentage point rise since the pre-pandemic period. Despite a slight decrease in hours worked, the labour market remains relatively tight with low unemployment and underemployment rates compared to pre-pandemic levels. As we move into 2025, Australia's job market is poised for change, driven by rapidly growing sectors, shifting workforce preferences, and evolving regional trends. Predictions for the upcoming year show promising opportunities in industries like renewable energy, healthcare, and technology, alongside challenges that employers must overcome to stay competitive. 1. Growing Sectors Renewable Energy: Australia’s commitment to clean energy is set to create a surge in jobs within solar, wind, environmental consulting, and energy storage. Healthcare & Aged Care: As the population ages and well-being gains more focus, roles in aged care, mental health services, and nursing will continue to expand. Technology: With digital transformation accelerating, roles in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science will be in high demand. 2. Challenges for Employers Skills Shortages: Industries like engineering, healthcare, and IT are facing persistent talent gaps, pushing businesses to offer competitive salaries, flexible work arrangements, and upskilling programmes. Workforce Preferences: Gen Z is increasingly prioritising sustainability, inclusivity, and work-life balance. Employers who fail to adapt may struggle to attract top talent. 3. Regional vs. Metropolitan Trends Metro Areas: Cities like Sydney and Melbourne will see continued demand for professionals in finance, technology, healthcare, and creative industries. Regional Areas: Infrastructure, mining, agriculture, and healthcare roles will grow, supported by government incentives and lifestyle benefits. However, regional employers may face challenges from smaller talent pools, which can be addressed through remote work and apprenticeships. 4. Opportunities for Job Seekers Regional roles offer faster career progression and hands-on experience, while metro roles provide opportunities for networking and advancement in competitive industries. Australia’s job market in 2025 will be shaped by both opportunities and challenges. As sectors like renewable energy, healthcare, and technology grow, businesses must tackle skills shortages and adapt to shifting workforce values. Success will depend on both employers and job seekers embracing flexibility, innovation, and a proactive approach to recruitment and career development.

  • As part of our countdown to Christmas, we continue to highlight inspiring stories of impact, showcasing how organisations are making a difference in the lives of those in need. Ascensia Diabetes Care is one such organisation, dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes around the globe.   Ascensia's annual event, the Spare a Rose campaign, raises funds for diabetes-related charities, and this year the campaign benefitted Insulin for Life, a charity that provides insulin, supplies, and education to people with diabetes in underserved regions.   Ascensia’s commitment to this cause is evident through its efforts to engage employees, matching their donations up to one rose, or $5, per employee, and contributing an initial $5,000 donation. The company has raised over $56,000 for the campaign over the years, helping to provide crucial supplies to children and young adults in need.   In addition, Ascensia’s support for digital innovation in diabetes care is reshaping how individuals manage their health. At the Giant Health Event, Ascensia showcased cutting-edge solutions from start-ups like Whisk and xbird, which are using technology to offer personalised nutrition and activity monitoring to help individuals with type 2 diabetes stay healthy.   This December, we celebrate Ascensia’s continued dedication to improving health outcomes and making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by diabetes. We look forward to seeing how these efforts will continue to inspire change in the years to come.   #InnovationInDiabetesCare #SpareARose #CorporateResponsibility #Type2Diabetes #HealthTech #AscensiaDiabetesCare #GivingBack   https://lnkd.in/gvbk2Rx2 https://lnkd.in/gft4rU3a

  • This week in #MedTech News Roundup, innovation takes center stage as leading companies continue to push boundaries in healthcare technology. Strategic acquisitions and advancements in AI-driven healthcare solutions are paving the way for enhanced patient care and diagnostic capabilities. A recent meta-analysis of 230 studies highlights the short-term advantages of Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci robotic system in cancer procedures. Published in Annals of Surgery, the research found lower rates of complications, readmissions, and mortality in robotic surgeries compared to laparoscopic and open techniques. While robotic cases took longer to perform, they resulted in shorter hospital stays and less blood loss, though long-term outcomes like cancer-free survival were not assessed. https://lnkd.in/g8YChbmU Artivion EMEA has received FDA humanitarian device exemption for its AMDS Hybrid Prosthesis, a stentlike implant designed to treat rare, severe DeBakey type I aortic dissections. Used alongside standard open procedures, the device helps stabilise the aortic arch and prevent life-threatening complications such as blood leakage and malperfusion. Clinical trials showed promising outcomes, including a significant reduction in malperfusion and disabling strokes, positioning AMDS as a vital option for this high-risk condition. https://lnkd.in/gCMrSgjW Siemens Healthineers has completed its acquisition of Advanced Accelerator Applications Molecular Imaging from Novartis, expanding its capabilities in diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals for PET scans. The deal adds a European manufacturing and distribution network, complementing Siemens’ existing PETNET Solutions, which operates 47 radiopharmacies in the U.S. and 13 sites in Europe. With a workforce of 420 and a robust product portfolio, Siemens aims to enhance access to innovative cancer and neurodegenerative disorder diagnostics through this strategic expansion. https://lnkd.in/giZb3wvy Zimmer Biomet is well-positioned for 2025, leveraging advancements in AI, smart implants, and product diversification to drive growth. Strategic moves like its partnership with RevelAi Health and the acquisition of OrthoGrid Systems enhance its AI-driven solutions for orthopaedic care. With innovations such as the Persona IQ smart knee implant gaining traction and 50 new products anticipated over the next three years, Zimmer Biomet is set to strengthen its leadership in orthopaedic medtech. https://lnkd.in/gH4Nw5Xv Follow TRESP Recruitment - Medtech and Healthtech Experts to stay updated on all the latest updates.

  • As part of our countdown to Christmas, we continue to highlight inspiring stories of impact, showcasing how organisations are making a difference in the lives of those in need. The Boston Scientific Foundation is one such organisation, dedicated to improving health and creating educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged communities. In 2023, the foundation donated $2.19 million in grants, scholarships, and humanitarian aid to nonprofits focused on health issues like cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. One standout recipient is Southside Community Health Services, a clinic in south Minneapolis serving underserved families. With the foundation’s support, Southside developed a Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) programme, helping patients manage their diabetes and reduce long-term health risks. The funding allowed Southside to fully accredit the programme, reach more people, and partner with Urban Ventures, a local nonprofit serving Spanish-speaking communities. As Ann Cazaban, Executive Director at Southside, puts it, “Health grants like the one we got from the Boston Scientific Foundation help us keep programs like this alive, which has amazing ripple effects in the community at large.” The work of the Boston Scientific Foundation is a great example of how funding and collaboration can lead to meaningful, long-term change. • As part of our countdown to Christmas, we continue to highlight inspiring stories of impact, and today we turn our focus to Stryker and Operation Smile—a partnership that has been changing lives and strengthening healthcare systems for over 30 years. Together, they’re making an incredible difference in some of the world’s most underserved communities: In 2024, over 2,300 healthcare professionals were trained through their initiatives, closing critical skill gaps in low- and middle-income countries where access to surgical care remains scarce. The Rwanda Surgical Training Rotations programme celebrated a significant milestone, graduating the country’s first female plastic surgeon, along with other healthcare professionals who are transforming surgical care in the region. Through employee-led fundraising campaigns, Stryker has helped raise more than $1.8 million since 2015, directly supporting life-changing surgeries, healthcare worker training, and medical education programmes. For children born with cleft conditions, this partnership means access to care that allows them to eat, speak, and live without stigma. And for communities, it means sustainable solutions to healthcare challenges that will benefit future generations. This collaboration is a beautiful example of how compassion and teamwork can create lasting change, one smile at a time. Stay tuned as we continue our #DecemberImpact countdown, sharing more heartwarming stories of organisations and individuals making a difference and driving sustainable change across the globe. https://lnkd.in/ghsRSc32 #MedTechNews #HealthcareInnovation #MedTechIndustry #HealthTech #HealthcareTechnology #GlobalHealth #AccessToMedicine #SocialImpact #DecemberImpact
