In conjunction with our STEM table sponsorship of the Australian Defence Magazine’s Women in Defence Awards (WIDA) 2024 held recently in Canberra, we’re celebrating the outstanding women in our workforce who support the government and defence industry. Featuring Melanie Abdeen who started her journey with Toll as part of the Graduate Program in 2019. Working as a transport supervisor amidst a pandemic and seasonal peak period was a challenging time but nonetheless a unique opportunity that Melanie considers to be a highlight of her career so far. Now a Transport Planner, Melanie supports the Commodity Reform Program within our Managed Services business. "Working as part of a 4PL operation is rare as I get to work with customers, suppliers, and products that I never physically see, highlighting the importance of strong working relationships and teamwork." Melanie enjoys the challenges and agile nature of working within a business that is focused on supporting the Defence force. "Being a piece of the puzzle in providing Defence with supply chain solutions, gives me a true sense of purpose. I’m looking forward to uncovering future opportunities and further realising my potential as I continue my Toll journey." At Toll, we take pride in the valuable contributions of colleagues like Melanie, who help us achieve outstanding results in an inclusive workplace. #proudtobetoll #defenceindustry #womenindefence

Last week, our team in Singapore partnered with Habitat for Humanity Singapore for Project HomeWorks. Our team of volunteers came together to give those in need a hand with cleaning, decluttering and repairing their homes. Community members were able to tick some important jobs off the list. It was a meaningful experience for everyone involved, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community. On Remembrance Day, Toll pays tribute to all who have lost their lives in service, both past and present. For more than 100 years, Australians have paused to honour the sacrifice of servicemen and women who have fought and died in war, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Please join us in honouring them by observing a minute’s silence at 11am to honour those who sacrificed their lives for their nation. Today, and every day, we will remember them. 🚛⚡ We’re excited to announce a $67 million investment to roll out 28 battery electric heavy vehicles and build over 30 new charging ports across Toll and customer sites, making us the largest operator of battery electric heavy vehicles in Australia’s third-party logistics sector. With support from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) through its Driving the Nation program, we’re bringing cleaner transport options to our partners, including Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Woolworths Supermarkets, BlueScope, and Origin Energy. This milestone is an important step in our decarbonisation strategy, helping us reduce emissions and support our customers in meeting their own sustainability goals. Together, we’re paving the way for a greener industry. 🌱 Find out more about this important step in our journey: https://lnkd.in/gu5FU_Cf #Sustainability #Transport #ElectricVehicles #Decarbonisation #Proudtobetoll
