On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of attending my first Queensland Peer Advisory Group session with the Advisory Board Centre — a fantastic experience! 🌟 I was honoured to join Andrew MacDonell on a panel to share insights and case studies on “Preparing for the Future: Sustainability, Investor Readiness, Merger Readiness, and Future Fit.” We had an engaging and thought-provoking conversation with the other members, exploring the diverse perspectives we bring to advising our clients, from finance to human capital. On Wednesday, I had the privilege of facilitating a workshop at the Ark Energy Corporation offsite conference, where we explored "Mastering Flexibility and Adaptability: Rethinking How You Respond to Change." 🌍 Together, we dug deep into what it means to be adaptable and flexible, recognising how fear can keep us within our comfort sones. We discussed how to have respectful conversations (and even spirited debates!), how to broaden our perspectives, and the power of self-leadership—that everyone is a leader no matter your role title. One of the biggest insights was understanding how our thinking and behaviour directly impact our results. We are all responsible for how we show up and respond to challenges, and by taking ownership of our actions, we not only enhance our own resilience but inspire others to do the same. Diversity in backgrounds, experiences and thought processes is essential to success.
