Should sourcing stay a specialised skillset? Specialist sourcers can be incredibly valuable, a panel of recruitment and TA leaders agree, but they are divided on whether this skillset is required across the board by recruiters. The panel at last month’s Sourcing Summit Australia discussed the challenges sourcers and recruiters might face in the next 12–24 months, and how sourcing methods are evolving. But Gibson-Jones, talking about in-house recruiters, cautioned against diluting their capabilities by “expecting everyone to be everybody”. “Do I expect my recruiters to be sourcers? Categorically not.
