The RANZCO Advocacy team and CEO attended the Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) 2024 Year in Review morning tea, where RANZCO Fellow Dr Paul Beaumont was recognised as a founding member. Dr Paul Beaumont AM set up MDFA in 2001 to develop a patient-centred advocacy organisation for those at risk or suffering from macular disease. MDFA’s Patron, Ita Buttrose, recognised Dr Beaumont’s 24 years of service by highlighting his big picture vision and day-to-day care of patients with #maculardisease. Dr Clayton Barnes - Calvary Riverina Hospital's ophthalmologist – has been caring for the eyesight of the local Wagga Wagga community for over 30 years, having originally moved to the area so he could make a difference.
