A huge congratulations to St Peters Lutheran College in Queensland on 40 fantastic years using the Duke of Ed Framework to support young people in becoming #WORLDREADY 👏 “In 2024, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award has continued to thrive at St Peters, providing students with a way to integrate their cocurricular activities and work towards a larger goal. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the (The Duke of Ed) and St Peters, a milestone that highlights its remarkable growth.” (Susannah Treschman - Duke of Ed Coordinator, St Peters Lutheran College) In 2021 approximately 60 Year 9 students used the Duke of Ed Framework at St Peters and by 2024, this number doubled with 120 Year 9 students registering for the Duke of Ed Bronze Level. Yesterday our NSW Team Leader, Ian Walker, was presented with a Silver Distinguished Service Medal by Her Excellency the Hon Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW. The Silver Distinguished Service Medal is for eminent service and achievement to the development of young Australians through The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Ian has served as the NSW Executive Officer initiating unprecedented growth in new registered users and Duke of Ed Level completions. Ian has been a major contributor to many aspects of strategy and policy development at a National level, including collaborative work on delivery partners, marketing, Leader training, Gold Level Ceremonies, process development and systems management. "Ian is a valued and respected role model and a mentor to his peers locally and across the national organisation. Congratulations and from all of us, thank you Ian for your valued service, which commenced well before you stepped into your current role to lead the NSW Duke of Ed team."
