That’s a wrap on 2024! We're celebrating the milestones of our Stone & Chalk community. Over 60% of startups reported significant new growth this year, with $3.9B raised since our inception. Our startups now employ 4,500+ people, with 500+ new jobs created in just the last six months. Here's a quick spotlight on just some our startup successes: 🌱 Adelaide: Cropify raised $2M to support Aussie farmers, and Blue Dwarf Space secured $750K to simplify satellite launches. 💡 Melbourne: FrankieOne was crowned Fintech Organisation of the Year, and Pathfindr joined AFR's Most Innovative Companies list. 📦 Sydney: Locad raised $9M for better parcel delivery, and Quantum Brilliance signed a huge deal to build the world’s first mobile quantum computer. 🏆 Young talent: Three founders – Annie Liao 🇦🇺, Grace Brown, Sam Crowther – made the Forbes Australia 30 Under 30 List. We ran 600+ events, piloted 3 new programs, and partnered with Google Cloud, KPMG Australia, and CSIRO National AI Centre (among many others) to supercharge startup growth. While this brings change, it’s also an opportunity to build something even more powerful - a globally connected, collaborative hub at Tech Central. NSW Innovators need an accessible front door to opportunity and better and more coordinated pathways to access curated support along their journey. This new vision for Tech Central, anchored around Stone & Chalk’s Scaleup Hub in the heart of Tech Central, bring together startups, scaleups, corporates, universities, and global leaders like Atlassian to create an ecosystem that drives innovation, jobs, and economic growth. It’s about taking everything we’ve learned from the Sydney Startup Hub and scaling it for even greater impact, ensuring NSW remains at the forefront of industries shaping the future. A future that has the potential to uplift NSW's Gross State Product by as much as 10%, delivering over $30 billion for the economy if we get this right.
