St John of God Health Care welcomes the reform proposals put forward today by the Federal Government to support the viability of private hospitals. While our organisation and teams have demonstrated resilience post-COVID in the face of rising costs, regulatory changes and variable patient demand, it has not been without its challenges.   The Health Minister’s proposal includes improved access to mental health, healthcare at home and maternity care; support for fairer negotiations with insurers and reducing red tape – all areas that will greatly enable St John of God Health Care to continue to provide the exceptional care and clinical outcomes that communities across Australia and New Zealand have come to expect from us.   We look forward to continuing to partner with the government, our public health colleagues, health funders and the wider health sector as the reform process rolls out.
