Southern Premium Vineyards (SPV) owns and operates wine grape vineyards in Australia’s finest and most productive wine grape regions including the Barossa Valley, Clare and Limestone Coast regions of South Australia and the Riverina in New South Wales. Established in 2021, SPV offers wine producers a grape supply solution for their wine grape sourcing as an alternative to owning or leasing vineyards. SPV is wholly owned by the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments)* and sits within its Natural Resources Group. *PSP Investments is one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers with C$230.5 billion of net assets under management as of March 31, 2022.

Last week, we were honoured to attend the WISA - Wine Industry Suppliers Association Inc Impact Awards. WISA connects businesses that are committed to adding value, capability and competitiveness to the Australian grape and wine industry. The awards highlighted outstanding achievements across multiple categories, showcasing the dedication and creativity that continue to drive the Australian wine industry forward. SPV sponsored the Viticulture and Grape Growing Award. Our CEO, Matt Alexander, was a part of this year’s expert panel of judges for this Award which was presented by Clark Skinner on the night. We were proud to present this award to Lallemand, who created LalVigne PROHYDRO, a proline-rich specific yeast derivative, designed to enhance grapevine resilience to water stress, so vineyards can maintain higher physiological activity, ensuring better photosynthesis and transpiration rates. This foliar spray product will improve grape quality and yield, even under challenging environmental conditions. The International Wine and Spirits Record (IWSR) has named [yellow tail] the ‘Most Loved Wine Brand’ for the 7th year in a row as part of the Global Wine Brand Power Index 2024. This is an incredible achievement for [yellow tail] as the data is representative of over 378 million wine drinkers across 18 countries. The Index is based on data collected from Vinitrac, the IWSR online drinker survey which measures wine consumers’ attitudes and behaviours around the world.
