❗️VANUATU EARTHQUAKE❗️ A 7.3 magnitude earthquake has struck #Vanuatu, causing significant damage and injuries. Communication lines are down, and aftershocks continue to challenge relief efforts. The Australian government has offered assistance and we are working to understand what more might be needed. ShelterBox has worked with communities in Vanuatu many times before, including after Cyclone Harold in 2020 (where this photo was taken). 💚 Please help us be ready to respond to disasters around the world by donating today. 📣 YOUR DONATION TODAY WILL SUPPORT FAMILIES LIKE SALEHA'S... In August, severe floods in #Bangladesh destroyed over 300,000 homes. Saleha’s family lost everything, including their home and livestock. With three young children, an elderly father to care for, and a husband earning just 220 taka a day - less than $2 - they can’t afford to rebuild their home. Saleha's home is unstable and unsafe. They fear for their children’s safety, with a risk of collapse as well as snake and insect infestations. They have been forced to share sanitation facilities with their neighbours, and Saleha's daughter can't attend school due to the family’s financial struggles. Saleha says, "If I could earn money, then my husband’s burden will reduce, and together we can manage our family." ❤️ DONATE NOW AND DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT ❤️ ShelterBox is working to rebuild homes like Saleha's, focusing on making them more resilient to future floods. With your generosity this giving day, we can bring hope to families like Saleha's and help them rebuild their lives. 🤝 Please support our annual Giving Day today and your dollars will be MATCHED by a generous ShelterBox supporter — this means your impact through disaster relief will be DOUBLED: https://lnkd.in/grEeyhtq

📣 There's 10 days to go until our annual 'Shelter is a Human Right' Giving Day — and right now you have the opportunity to have every dollar you donate MATCHED! By donating you will be supporting people just like Kadir. This is his story ⬇️ “Before, I slept on the hard floor, which made my back worse. Sleeping on a mattress has changed my life. I am truly grateful for the support” 41-year-old Kadir lives with his family in Afar, a remote part of Ethiopia. They’ve been forced to flee their home three times because of conflict and the worsening climate crisis. Once a thriving farmer with livestock, Kadir lost nearly everything to drought. On top of this, a disability caused by illness makes it harder for him to support his family. Reflecting on his old life, Kadir shares, "Our life was better before; we lived in a proper house and land that provided grass for our livestock." Through our tailored aid, Kadir received a mattress, smaller jerry cans that are easier to carry, and shelter materials to protect his family from harsh weather. These simple items have brought relief and hope. The drought in Ethiopia is severe, forcing families like Kadir’s to leave their homes in search of food and water. With your support this #GivingDay, we can help families like Kadir’s by providing tools to rebuild their lives, even in the harshest conditions. 💚 Please donate now: https://lnkd.in/grEeyhtq #shelterisaHUMANRIGHT #GivingDay #DonateNow #ShelterAid
