About us

Seed is Australia's first and only Indigenous Youth Climate Network. We are building a movement led by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to protect our country, culture and communities from the causes and impacts of climate change. Since launching as a semi-autonomous branch of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) in 2014, Seed has rapidly grown to be a powerful, national grassroots network of over 250 volunteers across the country. We provide platforms for Indigenous young people to build their skills, confidence and networks to lead action on climate justice campaigns in their communities.

  • 🔊 Seed is proud to announce Angel Owen as National Director at Seed Mob!! 🎊 Angel is a proud Butchulla and Woppaburra woman, one of the five founders who started Seed. At Seed, we educate, inspire, bring together and build the capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to organise their communities and take collective action on campaigns for climate justice. We know that by building the power of those most affected and confronting systemic injustices, we can build strong, sustainable, and resilient communities where everyone can thrive! That is why Angel is the perfect choice to lead Seed into the future. Starting out as a founder and volunteer, she has helped build Seed into the force we see today. As Chief Impact Officer Angel centred community consultation and co-design methodologies to build networks for change. Her focus on mapping the landscape to define strategy that drives impact, empowers young mob to take effective collective action. We are so thrilled to see her elevated to lead Seed as National Director, these qualities are what we admire in leadership, and we can't wait to see Seed thrive with her guiding the way! ❤️ 💛 🖤 💚 💙 ⚪
