It was incredible to have the undivided attention of 400+ busy Westpac designers, who carved out 3 hours of their day to hear real customers share real stories about digital inclusion. And, it's so good to see a leading bank partner with early-stage Australian startups. Thank you, Westpac, for your commitment to accessibility and for being such a brilliant partner. We're beyond grateful to have Westpac as an early adopter of our diverse and disabled user testing service. Big thanks to Rowan Avis (d.MBA) and Majella Knobel for cultivating an interest in an important topic- leadership at it's finest. Pat Jensen, Bhavya Dhingra, Shamus Hart

Diverse and disabled user testers. Helping teams understand accessibility with actionable and human-centred insights.
About us
See Me Please is a digital native marketplace committed to transforming the narrative on digital inclusion. We focus on human-centred insights from disabled and diverse users, over accessibility audits and compliance. Encountering the challenges inherent in accessing diverse and disabled user testers, in a way that supports the quick iterative nature of agile software development, the team at See Me Please recognized the pressing need for an easy and quick way for businesses to access diverse user testers. We hire diverse and disabled user testers, including those with no vision, low vision, deafness, language barriers, neurodivergence, older individuals, and people with physical disabilities. We are not accessibility specialists or auditors. We simply help tech teams understand ‘usability’ by having diverse and disabled customers use the digital experiences they’ve created.

*Sound On** What a fun night we had to celebrate the InnovationAus.com Awards last Wednesday. At barely a year old, we're chuffed to be in such a great company shortlisted as one of the most innovative software companies and the people's choice award. Huge thanks to the InnovationAus.com team. We can only imagine the chaos you faced trying to organise it! This event was the goods, and opportunities like these mean the world to early stage startups. And a massive shoutout to our friends at Jude for driving three hours to be there. But...the biggest shout out to Pat Jensen. He must need some oxygen (or that robot bar) after these audio descriptions! **Sound On** Bhavya Dhingra Sophie Wright Millie Clery

Care about inclusion but never actually met someone who is Deaf, Blind, or has Low Vision? If you work in the public service then come join us for 'Unawkward Chats on Disability and Digital Access'. Fun people, real stories. We’re pumped to have 4 of our Accessibility-All-Stars lead this panel with the Data & Digital Professionals at the Accessibility & Inclusion Community Meetup on Thursday, 24 October, 12-1pm (registration link below) Host: Pat Jensen - What do you think about skiing down a black run at 130 km/h... with your eyes closed? Pat’s done it! A 2x Paralympian, Pat competed in the 2018 and 2022 Winter Paralympics in Alpine Skiing. Now, he's swapped race boots for advocacy, championing equality and accessibility for people with disabilities. Panel Includes: - Kara (who also teaches Auslan) hasn’t let her hearing or degenerative eyesight stop her from backpacking across the globe. A true adventurer, Kara shares how technology and apps have empowered her to travel independently. Kara shows how Auslan doesn’t always follow English, helping technologists to build more inclusive digital experiences for Deaf customers. - Matt's a cool guy. He's a musician, music producer, disability advocate and proud dad. Based in Newcastle, Matt runs a successful music production studio, rocks out as an integral part of the children’s band "The Quokkas" and advocates for disability awareness through his podcast, Not So Bad. Oh, and he’s blind. Matt brings a unique perspective on inclusivity in both music and tech. - Dan knows the importance of accessibility. With 13 years in allied health and a day job at Vision Australia, where he focuses on creating disability employment opportunities. Pretty important work given the disability employment rate has sat at about 53% for over 28 years in Australia! Big thanks to Anita Fraser and Jessie Callaghan for making this session happen! No idea what 'assistive tech' means?! You're not alone. Digital accessibility is often spoken about in broad motherhood statements. And with little information widely available, it's hard for tech teams to know where to start. In this 2 min video, some of our team explain what they use as assistive technologies. https://lnkd.in/gcDibxYv
But what is assistive technology?
