⚠️ Red Dye No. 3: Could it be banned in the USA? Recent reports suggest Red Dye No. 3 (erythrosine) may soon face a ban in the US due to growing health concerns. Despite being removed from cosmetics in 1990, this artificial dye remains common in food, beverages and pharmaceuticals, including popular products like chewing gum and fruit juices. SeaStock’s natural R-PE red pigment, derived from Asparagopsis seaweed, provides a safe, sustainable alternative. As demand for natural ingredients grows, solutions like ours support healthier choices for people and the planet. Seaweed – The Next Big Thing in Haircare? Asparagopsis is gaining attention as a powerful ingredient in haircare products due to its array of benefits. Packed with essential nutrients, antioxidants, and moisture-retaining power, this super-algae nourishes your scalp, boosts hair growth, and protects from environmental damage. Australian beauty giant, MECCA Brands, recently highlighted the rising trend of incorporating seaweed into haircare products, showcasing the transformative potential of marine ingredients like Asparagopsis taxiformis. This move underscores the growing consumer appetite for natural ingredients, innovative and sustainable beauty solutions that deliver both performance and eco-consciousness. “If you look at the nutrients present in certain types of seaweed, you may recognise them from your skincare – for example, vitamin A (aka retinol), omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E. So, think of seaweed haircare as ‘skincare for your scalp’; as you would your complexion, you want to keep it clean, hydrated, moisturised and balanced.” - The MECCA Memo Contact SeaStock to discover how our Asparagopsis by-products can enhance your beauty solutions with sustainable, nutrient-rich ingredients. https://lnkd.in/ga6nv2wj

Seaweed Science Simplified - What is R-PE? The R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) red pigment found in Asparagopsis seaweed is a type of phycobiliprotein, a water-soluble pigment involved in photosynthesis. R-PE is part of the light-harvesting system in red algae, enabling them to efficiently absorb and use light under low-light conditions, such as deeper ocean environments. But this R-PR isn’t just for looks, it’s a high-value compound used in biotechnology, food, beverages and cosmetics. It’s an effective natural red-pink colourant, but also contains antioxidants, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. At SeaStock, we believe in maximising every part of the seaweed we use to reduce waste and create an array of sustainable solutions. #SeaweedScience #Rphycoerythrin #OceanInnovation #MarineBiology #SeaStockSolutions

Seaweed Science Simplified - Why Asparagopsis taxiformis? This super seaweed isn’t just another ocean plant—it’s a game-changer for the planet. Here’s why it’s making waves: 🪸 It's native to the Western Australian coast, and thrives in the warm water of the Indian Ocean. 💨 Contains a natural compound, bromoform, which can reduces methane emissions from livestock when added to their feed. 🌊 Grows sustainably, leaving a smaller environmental footprint than traditional feed additives. 🌱 Generates all natural by-products 🔴 Has a uniquely natural ruby red hue that can be used as a colourant. #SeaweedScience #AsparagopsisTaxiformis #ClimateSolutions #SustainableFarming #OceanInnovation
