Only 22% of Americans saying they #trust the government in Washington to do what is right "just about always" or "most of the time" as of June 2024 a slight increase from 16% last year – which was a record low. In the United States, public trust in its government has fluctuated consistently. Now, while not steadily declining, trust in government remains low and has been for the last 20 years. Why? Here, we’ll uncover the top five factors which exercise a steady #influence over the public’s trust in their #leaders and how new and improved #frameworks and increased #digitisation aim to lift it back up again. #politicalpolarisation #mediainfluence #communityengagement #tranparency #accountability Patrick Joy Sarah Corcoran Jordan Mullins Christian Sorensen Ross J. The term innovation runs the risk of veering towards becoming a catch-all buzzword that loses meaning when used without purpose. The public sector kept on course in 2024 by focusing on WHY it needed to innovate and HOW it was going to accomplish it. The findings outlined in this year's 2024 State of the Service report on Australian Innovation revealed a surprising focus on change which went beyond digital transformation and highlighted the pubic sector's focus on improving public trust in government through transparency, efficiency and excellence in digital servicing. The good news - Australians' #trust in digital government services has been growing, with a vast majority engaging with a range of digital platforms: Australia ranked 5th in its first participation in the #OECDDigitalGovernmentIndex (DGI) in 2023, scoring massively above the OECD average and scored especially high (97%) in the "Digital by design" dimension, which explores the country’s #readiness to adopt #digitaltools to make citizen interaction easier. But #dataprivacy and #security concerns continue to loom: Only 32% of Australians feel in control of their data privacy. 19% are uneasy about their personal data being stored on government databases. Here we will seek to understand how the APS may reconcile these conflicting results, but firstly it’s crucial to learn how our government comes to these statistical conclusions. From there, we can identify ways to improve specific stats that are especially low. #trustmetrics #transparency #customersatisfaction #behaviouraleconomics #surveys #CXassessments #sentimentanalysis #digitalstrategy #responsibleuseofAI Patrick Joy Sarah Corcoran Jordan Mullins Christian Sorensen Ross J.
