We’re celebrating the incredible legacy of the Barbara Lee Family Foundation as it closes after 25 years of trailblazing work in the US 👏👏 BLFF’s important research and insights have shaped the conversation about women’s leadership and advancing gender parity in American politics. Their impact has also inspired and supported countless organisations globally - including Pathways to Politics. We’ve been privileged to learn from their work and collaborate with their team over many years. A special thanks to Amanda H. for her leadership in this space. Thank you to Barbara Lee and everyone involved for your vision, dedication, and leadership. Your work has created a ripple effect that will benefit generations of women, and we’re honoured to carry the torch forward here in Australia 🌟 We highly recommend exploring BLFF's research - it’s packed with practical insights that resonate well beyond the US. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gX5-wN8t Women's Leadership Institute Australia Sarah Buckley Dr Meredith Martin

#PathwaysToPolitics 2024 alum Anasina Gray-Barberio has made history as the first-ever Pasifika MP in the Victorian Parliament. She joins six other incredible Pathways alums serving in the Victorian Parliament, representing five different political parties. In her powerful maiden speech, Anasina honoured her Samoan heritage and family, while passionately advocating for the concerns of her diverse constituency. We were proud to be there to support Anasina and witness this brilliant milestone. Congratulations, Anasina! 👏👏 📷 Photo: Anasina giving her stump speech in parliament as part of the Pathways to Politics program last month. In what's being hailed as the start of a family-friendly parliament, the Victorian Parliament House building will soon have a dedicated childcare space 👏 👏 Unlike Canberra's Parliament House, which has provided onsite childcare since 2009 for MPs and staffers, Victoria's state parliament currently has no childcare facilities. 🗨️ "Historically, this building wasn't designed for women MPs, let alone children, and that needs to change." - Speaker The Hon Maree Edwards MP 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_Vu3KfM

Pathways to Politics for Women reposted this
On October 24th, I had the incredible opportunity to deliver a speech in the Victorian Parliament as part of the Pathways to Politics program for women. This experience was truly enriching—not just because I had the chance to speak, but because I listened to the inspiring stories of other women who, like me, have been driven by their life experiences to step forward into public life. My heartfelt thanks go to the amazing team at Pathways to Politics for Women for this opportunity and to the Trawalla Foundation for their support, as well as to @unimelb for backing this initiative.
