PROJECT AWARD | Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) Project We’re thrilled to announce that PCH has been awarded a new project at a top-tier mine in the Pilbara Region. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our full range of civil capabilities which we like to refer to as, everything to the underside of steel. Scope of Work includes: ▪ Bulk Earthworks – 30,000m³ of fill, final trim, and a turkey's nest for the NPI pad ▪ Trenching & Inground Services Installation – Over 4km of trenching for combined services ▪ Drainage & Windrows – Culverts, surface drains, and both HV and LV windrows ▪ Concrete Work – Circa 4,000m³ of concrete Opportunities like this allow PCH to demonstrate the value we bring to projects — professionally managing the many moving parts of complex, multi-disciplinary work. The focus is to continue performing, and through performance will bring a long-term partnership with our customer.

  • Hi The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has introduced amendments to its key management system standards, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, for companies to consider relevance of climate change risks in their analysis of the organizations context and needs of interested parties. These changes are a commitment to addressing climate change and ensuring sustainability is integrated into organisational practices. Understanding the context of the organization and the needs and demands of interested parties is already mandatory and outlined in Chapter 4 of the ISO standard’s Harmonised Structure. The only new action required, as such, is that climate change as a topic must always be considered as part of this analysis. Here are some key updates: 1. ISO 9001 (#Quality) • Amendment 1 (2024) requires organisations to assess the relevance of climate change when understanding their context (Clause 4.1). • It adds a note under Clause 4.2 emphasizing that climate change requirements can be relevant to interested parties 2. ISO 14001 (#Environmental) • Similarly, organizations are now required to explicitly consider climate change as a factor in their environmental management systems, aligning with the goal of improved sustainability practices . • Climate Relevance: Organizations will need to assess climate change impacts. Life Cycle Thinking: A renewed focus on holistic environmental management across the supply chain. 3. ISO 45001 (#Occupational Health & Safety) • The amendments also introduce climate-related risk assessments into the understanding of organizational context and the expectations of stakeholders . Timeframes and Transition ➡️The amendments are effective immediately (2024), meaning organizations should begin incorporating these changes into their management systems. ➡️ For ISO 9001 specifically, a more comprehensive revision is expected by 2026, with a three-year transition period for compliance once it is published ➡️ For ISO 14001 Expected Publication: The comprehensive revision is anticipated in late 2025. Organizations must now evaluate whether climate change is relevant to their operations and update their systems accordingly, including procedures, risk assessments, and documentation. These updates are crucial to align with global climate goals and enhance resilience against climate-related challenges. For more information, get in touch with Paradigm Safety Consulting

As a leader, one of the most powerful tools at your disposal is the ability to be quiet and observant. True leadership isn’t just about giving direction or making decisions; it’s about understanding your team, the dynamics at play, and the environment around you. By taking the time to listen and watch, you create space to truly hear what’s being said — and often, what isn’t. Being quiet allows you to pick up on subtleties: body language, tone, and the unspoken emotions that can reveal the real state of your team or project. It helps you identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities that may be missed in the rush of constant action or conversation. Moreover, when you step back and observe, you empower others to step forward. You give your team the chance to voice their ideas, solve problems, and demonstrate their capabilities. In doing so, you foster trust and create an environment where people feel valued and respected. Leadership isn’t about always having the loudest voice in the room; it’s about being wise enough to know when to listen. It’s in those quiet moments of observation that you often gain the greatest insights and make the most impactful decisions.

  • As we move into the warmer days and months of summer, it’s crucial to prioritise hydration. Dehydration can sneak up on you, especially when working outdoors or in physically demanding environments. Here are a few tips to stay safe and refreshed: Drink Water Regularly: Don’t wait until you feel thirsty; make a habit of drinking water throughout the day. Take Breaks: Step into the shade or a cool area whenever possible to give your body a chance to recover. Avoid Excessive Caffeine: Energy drinks and too much coffee can dehydrate you faster. Monitor Your Body: Watch for signs of dehydration, such as dizziness, fatigue, or dark-colored urine. Stay Prepared: Keep a water bottle with you at all times and encourage your team to do the same. At Paradigm Safety Consulting we love the Yetti bottles !! Let’s keep our health and safety a top priority as the temperatures rise. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for each other!

A 21-year-old male labourer has sustained serious burns to his body after refuelling a petrol-powered pressure washer while it was in use. The nozzle connected to the fuel container dislodged resulting in an uncontrolled release of petrol which ignited from the hot surface. To prevent similar incidents, employers must implement the following control measures: - Conduct a risk assessment - Follow refuelling protocols - Use only approved equipment - Establish well-ventilated areas for refuelling - Ensure firefighting equipment is readily available and workers are trained on its use - Ensure all workers wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during refuelling activities - Provide clear instruction, training and supervision to workers on the safe use, storage and handling of hazardous chemicals.
