As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing women in construction and our goal to bridge the gender gap in leadership and on-site construction roles, we are very proud to introduce you to Jocelyn. Jocelyn was selected from multiple scholarship submissions and was awarded the McDonald Jones Homes Excellence Scholarship Bachelor of Construction Management (Building) at the University of Newcastle. When she first heard she’d won the scholarship, Jocelyn said. “I was incredibly grateful and felt a sense of validation for my efforts. As a female in a traditionally male-dominated industry, it can sometimes be intimidating to pursue a career in construction management, but this scholarship has given me confidence that others believe in my potential.” We are excited to see what the future holds for Jocelyn and we’re confident it will involve a long and rewarding career in our industry.
