Two exciting days at #NEONForum2024, where global experts in night-time economies joined NSW leaders to explore what it takes to make Sydney an exceptional 24-hour city. Curated by the 24-Hour Economy NSW across 50 talks and panels, NTE champions emphasised the power of night-time economies and their crucial importance for economic resilience, inclusivity, and creating a rich cultural landscape—qualities that define world-leading cities… A major milestone was the launch of Data After Dark by Minister John Graham and 24-Hour Economy NSW Commissioner, Michael Rodrigues. This world-first platform will track essential metrics—from people movement and spending habits to business activity—equipping both government and business with the insights needed to make informed, impactful decisions that will drive growth in NSW’s night-time economy. With a night-time economy valued at $102 billion, employing one-fifth of the workforce across 53,000 businesses, this tool will enhance strategic planning and instil confidence as we activate Sydney after dark. The launch of Data After Dark is a powerful statement from the NSW Government, reinforcing its commitment to reclaiming Sydney’s nightlife and bringing our city back to life after dark—disco balls included!!! #NighttimeEconomy #24HourEconomy #NEONForum2024 #SYDNEY

🚇 Sydney Metro is Officially Open! 🎉 An exciting day for the Western Harbour with the game-changing opening of Barangaroo Metro station - strengthening access to crucial areas like Walsh Bay, Barangaroo, and King Street Wharf! This exciting new transport link, part of Sydney Metro's M1 line, will see an estimated 14,400 commuters pass through each weekday! The arrival of Sydney Metro not only improves connectivity but also promises significant benefits for our local area. By facilitating faster travel times and better connections, we're unlocking new opportunities for businesses and residents, driving economic growth, and enriching our community's vibrancy. Also now open is a new park surrounding the entrance to the station at Barangaroo, featuring almost 200 trees and plants, new footpaths, streetlights, bike parking facilities, more than a dozen long concrete benches, as well as new bus stops, and drop-off points for taxis and vehicles, close to the station entry. It also features a nine-meter long, cast iron statue replica of the historic Barangaroo Boat, marking the location where the 200-year-old artefact was found during excavation. More public space is due to be completed by the end of the year, with an additional southern entrance to be added as part of the future Central Barangaroo development.
Say hello to Sydney’s newest waterfront precinct 😍. From Monday, this latest addition to the Barangaroo foreshore will be accessible for Sydneysiders to enjoy, before we open up Barangaroo’s brand new metro station in August. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gaZBWTG6
