📅 Well that is just about it for 2024! ⬆️⬇️ A year of some ups, a year of some downs, a year of some challenges and a year of learning. 🙏 Thankful for all our clients, candidates, partners and supporters that have been with us throughout the year. Recruitment is bloody tough, but when you get to do it with people who are on the same page as you, it makes it all the worthwhile. 👨👩👧👦 Looking forward to the break with close family and friends – it really is a wonderful time of year. 🤲 Super excited for 2025. Here’s hoping for an up-tick in hiring, some interest rate cuts, increased business confidence, a Nick Daicos Brownlow and another flag for the Collingwood Football Club. 🎄🎅 Have a Merry Christmas, a safe and happy new year and myself and the team at Kaliba will see you in a few weeks time (with some new faces to show off).

We've officially reached that pointy end of the year. For some, things quieten down, but if the last few years have been any indication, this time of the year can be unpredictable. December can be a mixed bag in tech sales—some are flat out, while others are already winding down. We're curious to see how the end of 2024 is shaping up for you.

The Reserve Bank of Australia meets for the final time in 2024 today. Are we going to follow the US, Canada, UK and New Zealand with a rate cut? Absolutely not. However good news may be on the horizon. Andreessen Horowitz came out overnight and gave their predictions about tech starts up for 2025 (see the below image). They see vast potential in crypto, stablecoins, and artificial intelligence (AI), each shaping how industries will function and how consumers will interact with technology in the coming years. They also specifically mentioned Growth Stage Tech and specifically a 'sales renaissance'. In their view, AI Automation is going to lead to increased hiring of sales people. After two years of genuinely challenging times, there are more and more signs that 2025 is going to be a year of positivity, increased hiring and new market entrants for APAC. We are certainly seeing this here at Kaliba. With a bit of luck we will get all of the above and maybe even a rate cut!

Q: What is the key to retaining Top Talent? A: Hands down, it's #flexibility As some big players like Amazon push for a full-time return to the office, new research highlights a different trend: flexibility matters more than ever. Key findings include: ❇️ 89% of Australian organisations offer work-from-home options, with three office days per week remaining the standard. ❇️ Some workers are even willing to take a pay cut for more flexible arrangements. ❇️ Innovations like the 100:80:100 four-day workweek and compressed working years are gaining traction. For businesses, flexible work isn’t just a perk - it’s a strategy to attract and retain talent, enhance workplace culture, and even boost productivity. Beyond remote work, flexibility now encompasses tailored career development, parental leave, and wellbeing programs. At a time when employees value work-life balance more than ever, how is your organisation adapting to these shifting expectations? #FutureOfWork #EmployeeEngagement #WorkplaceFlexibility #Leadership
