Updates

  • To wrap up the year, we had the pleasure of hosting some of our youngest team members at our ‘Bring Your Kids to Work Day.’ The event featured face painting, balloon animals, movies, and a variety of creative activities, giving children a glimpse into their parents’ workplace.   We take pride in supporting our employees as they balance their professional and caregiving responsibilities and are proud to have been awarded our second Family Friendly Workplaces citation by Parents At Work for being a family inclusive organisation this year.   From our CEO Peter Menegazzo and all our team at Investa, we wish you and your families a joyful and safe festive season and a very happy new year.

Celebrations continue across our portfolio as we wrap up the festive season. Occupants at 120 Collins St were spoiled with prizes from a range of local retailers including Jan Logan and the chance to win a luxury stay at Stones of the Yarra Valley. Occupants enjoyed more carolling in the lobby from The Australian Chamber Choir and the Choir of Hard Knocks. Finally, occupants had the opportunity to participate in a stunning wreath making workshop. At 567 Collins St, we teamed up with occupants, Intrepid Travel and S. Kidman Brands, Rossi and Driza-Bone, to offer $1,500 worth of gift vouchers to our Insite community. Occupants were also treated to Coated Australia Christmas Cottages and our charitable gift-wrapping station, supporting Dressed for Success, put the finishing touches on presents. At 135 King St, 420 George St and 60 Martin Place Sydney, our occupants received Santa chocolate speckles from Coated Australia, while at 40 Mount St, North Sydney, one lucky tenant took home a Lindt chocolate hamper after guessing how many chocolates were on display. 201 Kent St enjoyed a DIY gingerbread workshop complete with a performance from James Englund. Occupants also enjoyed a complimentary wine and cheese tasting workshop with The Tasting Guys and Back Row West. Barrack Place wrapped up the year in style with an Aussie themed bauble giveaway followed by festive tunes in the laneway. Over in Brisbane, occupants at Turbot Place guessed 'What's under the Turbot Tree?' for the opportunity to win a variety of prizes.

This week, we united as an industry to support the UN Women’s global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign at the Tools Down livestream event hosted by the Property Council of Australia.   Moderated by Champions of Change Coalition Founder Elizabeth Broderick AO, and attended by Belinda Casselden, Karen Bevan, Kylie O'Connor and Campbell Hanan, our teams across the country dialled in to listen to the powerful conversation around domestic and family violence and the role of a workplace in supporting the victims and survivors. In our office, this was followed by a conversation between Tracey Brooks who shared her experience working as part of a national consortium that delivered the National Escaping Violence Payment Program, and its impact on those escaping violence with Mark Podgornik.    In support of Human Rights Day, five Investa buildings - 126 Phillip Street, Sixty Martin Place, 39 Martin Place, 120 Collins Street and 567 Collins Street - joined 70 buildings across the country in a display of orange light. Led by the Property Champions of Change, this initiative provides a clear message of solidarity and commitment to help end gender-based violence. Because women and girls should be Safe. Everywhere. Always.

  • With the doors of our first Build to Rent residence, Indi Sydney, now open, we’re delighted to have worked with ANZ Institutional, CommBank Business and Institutional and UOB on the refinancing of an A$160m green loan. The green loan, upsizing and refinancing an existing green construction loan, was issued under the Indi Sydney Green Debt Framework and was aligned to the Green Loan Principles published by the APLMA (Asia Pacific Loan Market Association). The Indi Sydney Green Debt Framework is consistent with our ‘Transform Tomorrow’ ESG strategy and aligns building sustainability performance in development and operations. Indi Sydney has achieved a Green Star Design Review rating and is on track to receive a 5-star Green Star Design and As Built v1.3 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. Our banking partners provided the financing and acted as Joint Sustainability Coordinators, structuring the green loan overlay to the transaction.

  • Stephanie McPhee, one of our exceptional Property Managers, has been awarded the David Baffsky AO study grant. Established in memory of David Baffsky AO, our former non-executive director and Chairman who passed away two years ago, the $25,000 grant is awarded to an employee to invest in a tailored career development and growth opportunity each year. David was passionate about learning and professional development and the grant provides an opportunity for a member of the Investa team to put toward further career development. True to the nature of the grant, Steph will be joining the 2025 New York City Study Tour with Western Sydney University, where she is completing a Bachelor of Business (Property). From the team at Investa – congratulations Steph!
